Royal wedding day is a definite workshop day, but I will be taking young Harry to Nursery. Earliest I can be at the workshop is 9.30ish, and will have to leave at 315 as nursery closes at 4 (it's at work in Crumpsall so 30 mins minimum to drive there). Can get a lot done in that time though, plus can go back later on I suppose.

I'll sort munchies etc for lunchtime, and we can work out the rest of the plan as we go along. I'm working this weekend, then off to Wales for a few days from Monday, back Thursday afternoon/evening. Car should be fully painted by now. Can we reassemble the interior and trim plus get the mechanicals finished and engine running in 5 hours?? I'm giving it a go!

Just ordered the windscreen and am working on ordering the fabric for the roof. £84.50 a metre but it's exactly right.

As to you interior me engine (or vice versa as it's me saying it) you might be a bit short on stuff to do. Just need to connect the fuel pipes, put oil in everything that needs it, connect up radiator and add water, then petrol plus electricity and see what happens. Should really check the valve clearances I suppose so that's a longer job to add to the list - I've never done it on an M20 so you can show me how.

i'll bring my power probe and multi meter just incase. setting the tappets is easypeasy on m20's.
paint looks nice btw. could do with a flat and buff tho.

looking forward to this now!

pm nas see if he is available too. be nice to have a mini meet again!

Whole car is being buffed to get rid of the dust specks - bootlid has a few in the lacquer.

I'm going to make a start on bits and bobs this evening if I can get down there, get the doors back on, refit the locks sort of stuff. Then I'll get all the piles of parts down and get them sorted out so we can find them easily.

Got the baur panel at home and have stripped the old canvas off. Sadly the rubber seal that does the sides and back has come off in several pieces. It should be usable - dread to think how much a replacement one is. Panel is soaking in bleach at the moment as it had mould on the inside. Am wondering if I can paint it - has a sort of flocked type finish to it.

Also pulled the rear light gaskets from the slug - will definitely need some more as they are crazily loose without gaskets. Hopefully Jason will locate the ones he has!

Fantastic, can you get them in the post to me over the weekend? Be nice if I had them for the rebuild day next Friday, they look in better nick than the ones from the slug so I'd rather rebuild with the good gaskets rather than mess around doing it twice..

Been to Wales for a few days sitting on the beach, which was nice. Windscreen still in transit and not got the roof fabric. I'll be at the workshop tomorrow from 9ish, anyone wants to call in either turn up or give me a bell on 07789694659. Unit address is Unit K, Lyon Industrial Estate, Atlantic Street, Broadheath, Altrincham, Cheshire WA15 5DH

Hope to see at least someone tomorrow!

Jim

Didn't get that much done. Washed carpets, sorted some rust near the accelerator pedal, fitted boot lock, secured battery, arsed about with washer bottles.Started putting back seat in, realised I needsd door cards first, realised windows come before door cards, baur b pillar trims before windows, so I painted them, then realised chrome rain gutter trim has to be on before the baur trims, and I can't do that until I have the roof fabric. So I tidied up the rear bumper, pottered about a bit and came home for a beer.
