I still have the parts stacked up everywhere around my shed, in fact today i mowed the lawns around them.

Now that is a thorough job!
If i had more than a 4inch disk grinder I would have been tempted to take the rear wings, roof etc and slot it all down the 1 metre gap down the side of my shed.

Amazing what a grinder, and infinite supply of cutting discs, a recip saw, shedloads of sweat and about 4000 gallons of tea can produce. The floorpan where the seats were mounted to make great bases to my spare Reacros, and the front panel is now sitting pride of place on my workshop wall with the lights and grills attached, looking like one of those deers heads you get mounted on a wall.
Unless someone wants to make me an offer for it...

Progress report....
My parts arrived on Friday to fix up the leaking oil-cooler-adapter-housing, over night from Sydney some 1000km away so could do the job over the weekend. Only set me back $23 for the 3 parts, happy with that.
I first attempted to replace the o ring, cap and circlip in place, that wasn't going to work as I'd been told, so i had to pull off the front bar, oil cooler and the oil filter before the adapter would come off.
In the process of prying out the old circlip i fired the contents of the housing across the garage, so i hope it was only the spring that had to go back under that cap. I used a welding clap to hold it all together.
What followed was much swearing and cursing as i tried to fit the oil cooler pipes back up without dropping the swaybar as i had done during the first install, I could get one but the other kept trying to cross thread, then i had to start from scratch because i thought i might have the pipes around the wrong way anyway. More swearing and cursing and throwing things in disgust.
I dropped the swaybar, jacked up the car and got it done.
I also took the opportunity to add in a relay from the starter positive to my electric fan circuit as the current drain thru the ignition was so great it melted the cradle around my fuse holder, 15amp was clearly not high enuff.
Now both circuits are fused and my car just needs an oil and filter change and it will be ready for active duty again.
As can be seen in the bottom right corner.
YAY!

Good progress!! i had the 325 oil cooler setup which i got dor 20 pounds but the piping was aukward as i had to get the grinder to cut in places at the front which i didnt want to do, however rather with all that faffing about with the oil cooler sandwich e.t.c., isnt it more wiser to get this below? which is what im looking to get after new year 16 row.

That is a fine piece of oil cooler kit, but my oil cooler came free with the 325i, and I'm not afraid to chop up my e21 to make it fit (a little).
frugaaaaaal... thats me.

Progress report, cooler refitted, oil and filter change completed. No leaks.
Swapped in the bosch super 4's from my old engine, raised the AFM up on its bracket as it was putting undue strain on the rubber boot causing a previous bodge repair to come away (new one arriving from Melb tomorrow).
Then i evicted the car from my shed to make way for.......
THIS!!!!
Yes its an e34, BUT it has another M20B25 efi motor in it and it cost me half of what i paid for the 325i i wrecked out.
There is a question mark over the engine, the sump has been over filled by some 40mm and then driven around till smoke started to come out, the coolant boiled and the hoses blew off, but by then the top end had also started clattering horrendously.
I jump started it at home and it purred to life after not being run for a week, but soon it started to make a distinct poor eccentric rocker adjustment sound. There is no oil in the coolant and there is no milky film under the oil cap so i have ruled out a cracked head or blown head gasket.
I was only chasing it for the tyres for my DD e34 and the EFI for my 2.7 e30 stroker project but it would be nice to pick up a functional 2.5 into the deal too.
Thoughts?
Is it terminally broken or just temporarily stunned?

I've almost finished my e21 325i conversion......almost!
I've just picked the car from having its new zorst fitted complete with euro 3 cat to suit Aus emissions regulations for the 1989 325i engine.
But i still need to fit a charcoal canister to my 325i engine to pass engineering and make it road legal at last.
My question is:
Is there a return pipe to the fuel tank off the bottom of the canister?
I'm pretty sure there was on the old canister i pulled out, the line ran across the front of the car and down the drivers side chassis rail (right side).
Thing is that pipe was rooted and its broken off half way along, so if this is the line I'm thinking of I will need to get creative to find a solution.
