already checked rocker cover and its fine,
rattle is coming from the front of the engine miles away from that gearbox clip.
where i have taken off the ol power steering pump it might be a bolt down there where i might have put one back in and its rattling about.
will see it though when i do the cambelt
we did drop the engine but it landed on andrew so its all good.
as for doing everything before the engine goes back in, well it was late in the evening and pols didnt wanna hang around, if i had time to properly do it i would of mounted it on an engine stand and cleaned everything up and painted the block etc, changed everything. money n time r a killa

I dont think its anything serious, a loose bolt, bracket or pulley perhaps. I dont think its got anything to do with the engine or gearbox.

Hey Zhan, did Tommi mention that your car got a note too? Lol it seems someone has complained about all the car work downstairs and us taking up 5 spaces atm...he rang them up though and sorted it out. His was because they thought it had been dumped and yours was because they didn't think it belonged to someone who lived here!
Needless to say me E21 didn't have a note on it, despite it being right next to them!
Hope you've had a good chrimbo, Han x

It's worked out pretty well actually.
Apparently all is sorted now, plus had the car garaged during this miserable snow and grit so I'm well chuffed.
In the process much a great bunch of guys and gals (tommi, hannah, david, ben, andrew, paul etc) and it's pretty much been a focal point for a bunch of people who love e21's to come together and learn together. I've got many bits of the car sorted to boot too, that's kind of a bonus! That's what being a member on a car enthusiasts forum is all about isn't it?
Tommi's been quality as well, he knows what to do and how to do it, time is obviously an issue sometimes coz he's got his own life to lead and I haven't hassled him either, just been kinda happy with the 'organic' process. We've all learnt along the way (it was the wiring that was the bitch!), got to know eachother etc. So all is good in this particular hood.
