i came into work tonight (night shift) to find a few old copies of practical performance car on the table... and low and behold there was MiB when you 1st got it showing it being corner weighted and with the single lights we swapped over from my blue 316 that you drove me down to buy :thumbsup And another copy had the TWR in it when you first got it.... brought a smile to face and made me more determinded to get my 3.5 back on the road again!!!!!
(even tommi's gold 323i one was in one for the £999 ppc challange)

Got some arches from the US that are similar to 02 turbo arches but were made for the e21 specifically.

Just waiting on parts from Wallace & Grommet.

2 outer sill panels
Rear jacking points

Also having new front wings & welding up the hole from the removed wiper spindle before the car gets a fresh paint. Also plan to remove the door mirrors.

3 years of daily use, 3 engine swaps and 30k miles have taken their toll but it should be good as new and ready for another few years service.

To be honest I would have gone to main dealer but Mick @ Pristine ordered them. As the metal has to be altered and dressed to fit I doubt it'll be an issue. The wings are genuine though as those I do want to fit without a hammer! :)

got sills here if you need them quick and can cancel W&N

and those grp arch's do not look they have much extension, have you measured them.

Also to do the sills on an e21 proper your mean tot take the bottom of the rear quarter panel of ig you have bought genuine outer sills

I think Mick's already ordered everything but thanks Jason, appreciate the offer. I just asked Mick to give MIB a thorough inspection and put right any problems he found. Obviously Mick's been doing e21's for years and his work is top notch so I know MIB will be totally mint once again. :)

I spy Lemonayd's lovely 323 on the ramps. Looked stunning when I was there last week. Hopefully the TWR will look similar.

More progress today. Just goes to show, no matter how solid your e21 is, once you start looking properly, you can find all sorts. Still, better to do it properly now and do the job once. It should be a few years till needs doing again - I hope!

Good to see progress pics like this, it has to get worse before it can get better.

Kidney grills maybe  It's good that you've kept on top of it though, a little rust is better than rot and I've learnt the hard way just to ignore rust and hope it goes away.

I knew the rear jacking points were in need of some love when I bought the car a couple of years ago and there's been a square of sticky backed plastic, over the hole where the wiper was removed, for must be 2 years?! As you say though, it needed doing before it became structural rot and way more expensive to put right.

I can't wait to see how it looks on Tuesday.
