Went to Knebworth Classic Car Show Yesterday; not as good a turnout due to the changeable weather. Got a good morning in and spent a nice afternoon poodling around Knebworth House (Would particularly recommend the Queen - the Freddie Mercury one - exhibition).

Got talking the the owner of this Acton-built Dauphine Gordini; yes it's real, he's owned it for decades and my powers of hypnotism weren't good enough to persuade him to part with it. Drat.

This is a Lotus Elite...

It's the prototype M50. The M prefix had been seen before - M20 (Metier - Plus 2 prototype), M50 (Elite), M52(Eclat), M70(Esprit), and M72 (Esprit Turbo) - but the corresponding Type numbers did not match and, other than the prototypes, the cars were always refererred to as either their correct Type or the actual name (though some used M50 to differentiate the new Elite from the old)

Yoda was moving mysteriously through the crowd on Sunday (his '02 was parked next to me), so mysteriously I didn't get a chance to catch up with him.
