Rust spot HELP!
Re: Rust spot HELP!
I haven't got a sunroof, so it could well be the door seal. When i get the interior out, I'll wash the car and see if it appears wet on the footwell again

Re: Rust spot HELP!
Removed the seats today, lifted the carpet, took the grommits out to air the car, it's now dry. Will be treating that area. Just did a check by spraying water across the windscreen and it seems as though there is a slight leak coming through from the seal underneath the windscreen which runs across underneath the bonnet. Will use some silicone to seal this in place. Should then solve the problem? I hopeDrGonzoPOW wrote:http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=51&fg=70
Is number 1 on here the tar mat thing that covers the rusty bit on your car ?
There are 2 main places from where water gets into the footwells. The sunroof drain channels being damaged or blocked or corrosion underneath the windscreen panel. Knackered door seals could be to blame too.
Is it ok to use silicone to seal this off?
