Have you drifted around in a 200sx? If you just want to drift, and don't feel attached to the E21, something tells me that Nissan is a better option.
For everyday use, I'd stick with the E21.
(but realistically if i had the cash) id rather pay off some household depts im currently paying for...... car is a secondary thing as long as its able to get me to work....
But it sounds to me like it's out of reach anyway
tbh honest i dont know why i dont just sell it, and get a pug 106 diesel. and just accept that im poor!
Money isn't everything, E21's are pieces of art. I am a college student with little money, and my E21 is part of me. I don't just drive it to get me from A to B. I really wouldn't want to split with my E21.
And small Peugeot's drive horribly! Plus I recently did some work with my friend on his 206 diesel. What a piece of shit car. The build quality is to cry for. Or these old bimmers just spoiled me, in a good way
Keep the E21!

Keep in mind the 200SX will break down and will be more expensive in parts so there's a risk it might grow over your head.

I live in Worthing and have seen this about and it doesn't look to bad, however even with a rebuilt ca18 this will go bang with the sort of abuse you'll be giving it! My mate is in to this sort of Jap crap so I might be able to get him to have a look for you if you want?

TBH I didn't realize it was your e21 plus £1k! Even if it was a straight swap I'd think twice but your e21 and a thousand pounds is madness! Stick with what you know Dave.

you see. i differ my opinion cos i have actually DRIVEN a 200sx thats running about the same power as this.
the e21 cannot compete with it - im sorry but its true.
In this case it is 1k more - if you dont have the money looks like your sticking with the e21 then!

If performance was the only criteria I'd agree but as a whole package I'd rather have a BMW. Jap interiors are some of the worst out there and the plastics they use make Dixons look upmarket.

I think the quality of the interior is not really a point of discussion... Have you seen his e21 interior! It’s all about whether the car can handle the abuse that Murran is going to give it. It will be fine and reliable right up till the first drift day… he’ll go out for one last drift and then BANG game over!!
I’m not saying these are bad cars and a £300-400 shitter will be a ball and when it blows up you can just break it and get your money back in parts.
Your BMW M20 is not bullet proof but will take a lot more abuse than that in the 200sx. It’s a time bomb waiting to go off... its not a question of if, it’s a question of when!

about 5 years ago i used to own an rx7 and a friend of mine (well a neighbour) had a 200sx (s13 shape that murrans been offered).
Obviously my car was a lot faster so one day we go out and hes not doing a bad job of keeping up - he had turned his boost right up as far as it could go safely and fitted a boost controller / fuel management.
We were pretty young back then so to get our kicks we used to race each other at 3am on the deserted country roads just for a laugh.
Both cars used to take a serious and (i mean red line every gear for an hour at least - drifting / clutch kicks / burnouts / and general lunatic behavoiur) and still they never blew up not once - went through so many tyres though - i was on a first name basis at the local tyre place and the shell petrol station lol.
200 sx is the most sensible and reliable car you can get - theres so much choice in stuff you can buy for them, and even if the engine blows you can get another for fairly cheap or just rebuild it with forged internals that dont too much and run 400hp.
You guys shouldnt dismiss a car until you have experienced it. When i tell them i own a 30 year old e21 people who havent seen it assume its a rusty nail with no balls. how wrong could you be.

My experiences with 200SX-es sofar is limited to having them on the same driftdays as I was and even though I've seen a few, I can't remember one actually finishing the day rolling. Still that can be a not-so representative situation, the entire package doesn't win over an E21 for me. If you just want a faster car, yeah why not trade for a 200SX. But I can already have a lot of fun (for example in the Alps) with 143HP, just enjoying a classic that still performs nice, even though my daily already has more than double the horses. It's just what you want from your car(s).

That's exactly how I'm thinking at the moment! Things are getting so bad I might end up selling my house and moving back in with the parents!
If someone offered me an R32 Skyline GTS-T for my E21 323i M50 I would have a hard job saying no...
Sell E21, buy cheaper S13, ???, Profit

i dont have a grand and its as far south as you can be without being in the sea. why are you guys still discussing it? if you want an s13 buy one lol.
and im am damn sure you could hold my m20 on its rev limiter for half an hour with no ill effects! with the amounts of abuse my engines had over the last 3 years if it hasnt gone bang yet...... it is isnt going to!

You never had that grand, and that car was always down south. Why did you start this topic? You attention whore!
