No way. I bought the car for the bits. After I removed what I bought it for, the car just stayed parked in my Garage. I knew the Head gasket was gone when I bought it so I had that done. Then I sold it to a guy in Birmingham. He put it through the MOT and did a few things to it. He then moved it onto the chap you bought it off.
I must say though, that when I sold the car, the rear valance was fine but there was a hole in the boot. I couldn’t see the sills as the car had BBS side skirts on it and I didn’t remove them. You might be able to sell the number plate to Porsche owner

fair enough.
did it come with any history or anything when you got it cos all i got was the logbook and mot.
the guy i bought it off took the sideskirts off and binned them which is a shame cos the sills are solid just a bit untidy.
have you got any pictures of what it looked like so i can show them to people and claim its my car

Unfortunately I didn’t get any history with it. I bought it off the forum as well. In fact, I didn’t even go and look at it, I just paid the guy and had it picked up. I’ll see if I can find some pics.

how much would the zender kit be and where would it be from?
it would be interesting to see how it use to look.
also i was wrong the stutter hasnt gone away.i think it may be a sticky choke on the carb, but what should i check on the ignition side of things?

thanks.
have a new set of plugs ready for it and have looked at the dizzy cap and rotor arm and they were a bit worn so may benifit from new ones.
just need to find a timing light to check the ignition timing but it cant be far off cos it runs well most of the time.

right
have changed the diff oil now but is still a bit noisy so may be on its way out.
also put some wheels i had onto it.but they were et38 so i have had it wait for some hubcentric spacers to fit them.
and im still looking out for a set that suits it better.

still driving it around and it hasnt had any real problems other than the brakes being off balance and a warped disc.
so i have orderded a new set of discs and pads which will be fitted once they arrive.

more of an update.
sorted the brakes.the inner pistons were both seized so i freed them off and put some new discs and pad on it so it now stops in a straight line
also have done a bit more of the bodywork just under the rear lights but im not happy with it so it will be re done, also got tinted lights

also made a rear shelf that has hidden 6x9 speakers underneath it.(rear seat isnt locked back in place in the photo but it does sit flush)

and new wheels that were black but i painted them cream(although its a lot more white than i was expecting

)

Do the electric seats work and if so, how did you get power to them ?

yeah the electric seats work.
i used the switched live that goes to the head unit.
and a permanant live that goes to the cigarette lighter to power it.
just havent got the heated seats wired yet but i will do one day.
i just ran the wires under the center console and under the carpet then a little hole under the seat in the carpet where the wires come out to the seat so there completly hidden unless you look under the seat.

another update
had a bit of an issue involving a rusty exhaust flange

as you can see it did a fair bit of damage.
i decided it would be a good time to swap to a "performance"backbox
also welded up and re painted the bodywork although i am pleased that my previous repair to that corner held together

quite pleased with it although the mounts need altering a fraction to give a little more clearance from the bodywork but its not touching or rattling so its ok for now
also found a carb flange which i am hoping it will fit as i cant find an e21 one.
however the vw item i have does look very similar and its designed for the same carb so i may get lucky.
also i am fairly certain i have some electrical gremlins somewhere because i have checked everything else and its still miss firing occasionally.
