My "baby" isn't home yet - it was in Oslo last monday, so it should come home this week, but it's being transported by train, and that may take a while... but don't worry., the arrival will be thoroughly documented

Wednesday 24th of May 2006 at 2030 CET I recieved my own long awaited 323...

Buying a car off ebay - without having the chance to see it beforehand, is quite thrilling, so I wasn't sure what to expect but my first thought were "Nice - not as nice as I hoped, but it's not as bad as I feared" 8)

Observations and Surprises - Good and bad

#1
It's shiny... It has been resprayed at some point in it's life. It's even painted in the engine compartment, in he door openings and inside the "boot". There's also plenty of good anti-rust stuuf underneat the car - I just hope it doesn't conceal a lot of rust...

#2
It has Bronze colored windows 8)

#3
It has a 3-spoke BMW "sport" steering wheel 8)

#4
I knew that it had the BBS wheels, but they are 6 x15" with 195/50 in front and 7 x 15 with 205/50 at the rear - I like that :)

#5
Underneat the seat covers there's a sport seat on the drivers side ("normal" seat for the passenger). Does anyone know what brand it is?

Image

#6
The body is almost free for dents - just a couple of small ones on the drivers door, and a larger one on the righthand side a-piller, nothing serious though.

#7
Seems to me that the suspension is lowered already 8)

other stuff....
Since the car hasn't been used for the last 8 years, there's a couple (??) of things that has to be taken care of...
The brakes are stuck (siezed?), a few hoses needs to be changed, the rightside exhaust fell off during transport etc....

But I'm happy - it's a good startpoint for a "bring-it-back-to-life-project"

It seems that I have to learn how to weld after all :? Took out the seats, floor mat and insulation today, and the drivers side floor have been repaired, but the passenger side was pretty rotten - and I punched right through the floor with a screw driver.... Well well - I'll do my best to save it :)

Not much new to tell - been too busy with work and home & family, so the project is moving veeeery slowly :?

But I've bought some parts, and made a few contacts with some local body shops.

I have got new brake disks (Tarox G88) and calipers, a nice AC Shnitzer valve cover (which I'm not sure I'm gonna fit) and the latest acquisition is a limited slip diff 8)

Still haven't done anything with the car - but now I've got a nice set of Alpina wheels in the garage - the real deal; 6" and 7" x 15" - I'm a happy man now 8)
