We're skating on thin ice as it is, what with all of the numptys modifying cars in an unsafe then driving like loons on public roads. If an serious (read fatal) incident ever occurs because of one of them, you see how quick the whole modified and classic car scene gets stomped on by the gubbermint. For example, rumour has it the DVLA are threatening to visit the major car shows checking VIN tags this year or next (as their US equivalents do) because of owners of certain marques 'ringing' cars for older, tax-exempt VIN plates. I'd hate to be the owner of some of the cars I know of that are blatantly illegal.
