Sorry for the late reply guys!! But better late than never i suppose.
In regards to needing all these things, i did take along some bear essentials but fortunately i didn't need any of them!!
BUT there was a problem ha ha ha.
The journey started great, cruising down the M6, sun beaming everything going perfect.
Got to the Dartford tolls, put my foot onto the clutch and my foot went straight to the floor. At first i thought my clutch had gone but no my slave cylinder was dripping out fluid and when i checked the filler it was empty. So i re-filled, pumped and low and behold i got my clutch back!!
I had to fill with brake fluid before every journey, get onto the motorway and stay in 5th gear the whole way until around 2 miles before the slip road and i would pull in, re-fill and get my clutch back.
This could be very stressful if there was a traffic jam or if traffic on the motor way slowed because if i took it out of 5th i couldn't get it back into any other gear because my clutch was dead in between re-fills.
Otherwise the trip was awesome!!

The journey was as follows: Preston--Dover--Calais--Bruges--Namur--Luxembourgh--Wildberg(Germany)--Munich(BMW Welt)--Metz--Calais--Dover--Preston. In total she covered 2040 miles from start to finish.
Here are some pictures of the journey!!

Nice, looks like you had a great time Sir! Clutch problem solved in the meantime?

There's more than enough to see, combine with some track action at Spa, Le Mans, da Ring or Hockenheim for example and move towards the Alps, Austria and Italy. Still enough to cover and a wonderful route for the summer holiday, even though it may be best to do that just before or right after the season really is on to make sure traffic is still fun. All these caravaners thinking their tdi still pulls like a Ferrari is a waste of your mountain trip.

Anyway, thanks for sharing!

My personal addition would be, a set of Recaro seats :thumbsup

Otherwise a great idea and as soon as things lighten up over here financially speaking i will do another trip some day
planning for a round trip in Northern Italie in the future.
Still have very good memories to our E21 Alps trip some years ago!

Recaro seats sound fantastic but i will be keeping my e21 standard.

May see Europe again this year... who knows. Only £59 return for a car and two passengers Dover-Calais.

Happy new year everyone!!

We're (3 x E21's) doing something similar end of May, taking in the Ring, Munich and the Alps after the Sharknose meet in Holland.

Did something similar last year, only different I went to the UK  . Been to the RetroRides Gathering and after that drove around the UK & Scotland for 8 days. It was great fun together with a friend of mine. Besides this we do several road trips to the Eifel, the Ring, the Alps and more! You should try to attend the Sharknose Meeting next year and go to the Ring after that!

Thegs, that looks really similar to the high pass road in Malham, Yorkshire that I drove recently (though they all look the same I guess!).
