Jeroen wrote:Yup, Mobster reported issues but as you can see that was 2 years ago, and he was removed for causing multiple issues himself. He reported an issue with you (mrd) and we try to investigate any and every reported issue with a forum member as I strongly believe we should be enthusiasts among each other who should be able to trust each other. Knowing who reported the issue and with no further reports, there was no reason for further action. I'd even like to remove this thread entirely.
I would just put your brakes on that Jeroen. I think some of you know, mobster is my brother in law. Mrd has contacted him last week, profoundly apologized for not supplying the parts and not repaying his money. He offered to return his money to him. At the time of writing this response, the money has not been repaid.
So before we do some character assassination by saying "Knowing who reported the issue" i suggest all the facts are gathered first.

Thank you

For the benefit of Jim and Jeroen and for the avoidance of doubt, this money has still not been repaid by mrd. Mobster was contacted on 11 July and told a bank transfer would be made but mrd has done nothing. Mobster has contacted him several times but no response.

I'm always amazed by the fact that people just can't stick to what they agreed upon. Always two sides to a story but this sounds pretty sad.

Could I suggest that a Feedback section would be something worth adding to the site.
Whilst it will never prevent bad sellers it will warn others for the future, along with giving buyers confidence in good sellers.

Sounds good, but how should that look before it turns into a long thread that's too much work going over? Some kind of a blacklist?

Lucklily we don't have many issues and if someone really misbehaves this person is removed as I believe we should be able to trust each other here, be among enthusiasts. So I'd say 99,99% of the people offering goods here can be trusted for the full 100%. A great achievement we made together!

I was thinking as its own section, much like they have on E30 Zone - Each thread is for a particular user.

Not so much of a blacklist, more a case of directing buyers to good sellers. When a buyer/seller has a bad transaction with a seller, they can can share their experience on the buyer/sellers thread.

Hmmm that's an idea! Let me just start subforums for that... see here: viewforum.php?f=76

Well since mobster is no longer to update this thread, i will do it on his behalf. The seller has made contact (finally) and advised mobster that he will refund him on payday. When asked when that was.....again no reply.

For those who indulged in some character assassination, there is still no sign of the refund.

The irony

I think you've made your point. Plus, said person you're speaking on behalf of has been excommunicated from this forum. This brings into question the validity of the claims in the first place and therefore fair game for a "character assassination" as you call it. It's not meant to sound harsh, however I know of at least three occasions where this now ex e21.net member created posts to tarnish the names of sellers only to be sent away with his tail between his legs when the OP decided to respond with a perfectly valid reason for not taking the deal any further, such as unreasonable haggling and repeated harassment via PM's and text messages.

With this said and keeping an open mind, the forum should absolutely be aware of a potential untrustworthy buyer (or seller). However, we should wait for that person to respond on here ideally and then see if it all adds up.

The money was taken 2 years ago but what the hell, lets wait another 2 years.

Well that is one of my points. You and/or Mobster say 2 years. We can't substantiate this until hearing the other sides story. By the way (and I'm not sure if you mean to come across that way), however overly terse communication and cutting, sarcastic remarks are extremely bad form. At the very least they prevent people from warming to you and most likely antagonise folk that would benefit your cause by getting onside.

Slight change of subject, I'm really in favour of the Rate The Seller subforum. Ebay (and Yahoo auctions back in the day) were so much more fairer when buyers were accountable to, where now they all favour buyers. This subforum should promote good behaviours on both sides.
