Dude, that center console that covers the handbrake is from a 5 series E28, i know cos i have one and they fit perfectly, alot of the E12 5 series parts fit and "some" E28 fit. if you want i can take a picture of mine and you tell me if it looks the same or not!, so if yours is a one of how comes i have the same type?

The picture of my diff is what hartge usually uses picture below and another picture of a hartge that was emailed me with the same diff,

Is there a point you're trying to make about the console? Consider the possibility that some guy at Hartge came up with the same good idea about adding a center console as you did. Maybe you got yours out of an E28 and maybe they got mine directly from the parts dept, but they both were made for BMW. All I can say is whoever installed mine made it fit, look, and feel like it came from the factory. I don't know what else I can say about it, sorry if it bugs you.

You, my friend, have a very rare rear diff. but, like I stated above, I have the H3 not the H3s. In case you aren't aware of the difference, the H3s had the big 6 connected to the big diff, whereas the H3 had the baby 6 connected to a normal size diff. Aside from the obvious cooling and fluid capacity, I don't know what gear difference between the two are. I can't imagine having a lower gear combination than what mine has now. It doesn't make for a very comfortable long distant highway drive.

regards to the diff, im not saying your car should have the E12 diff, i know the large 6 pot does, im just sending you a picture of my diff thats exactly the same as the article you posted with the pisture of your car simple as that, nothing bugs me at all about anything. with the center console, its not made to fit, it was designed on the E28 and with the handbrake brackets it bolts straight down which is good cos does make the car look different.

The fact that you said the console is a one off made thing from hartge, its where im telling you its not thats all.. but no worries!!, what factory model number was yours?

I like the car a lot but I think you should keep it 100% original since it's so rare.

What an absolutely beautiful E21!!!! In my eyes, it's just perfect!! - and extremely rare!!

The whole Hartge theme looks just great - the alloys, the lowered suspension, the spoilers and above all - those oh-so-80s stripes. Stunning stuff!! And I'm sure the performance must be every bit as stunning.... :P

Take real good care of her mate....
