Yes, swapping the engine was the plan from the beginning, but at first I wanted to wait and drive a year or so with an original engine (because i didn't liked the idea off al the work that's needed with such a motorswap) but because this one was drowning, I chose for the short pain...

Damn, I put a warning in my topic, but some people only look at the pictures I presume..
quote:For those who have a weak heart or only like completely original restored E21's, please close your eyes and move on to the next topic
And destroy? Well I see it like this, you buy an old BMW that nobody wants (it was for sale for more than 3 years) you put in a engine that costs as much as the original price of the car, put some rims on it that cost 1/4 of the original price of the car, lower it and put it in an '80's race-look..In my dictionary that's called 'improving' or even saving from an certain death

Looks good for a race track. But for street use... hellooooooooooo speed bumps

Seriously, I don't understand how people can lower their car that much. On what kind of roads do they drive their cars?

The lowering is not that much of a problem, because I drive big wheels, the chassis of my car won't be much lower than a -4cm lowered E21 on 13" or 15" Speedbumps for example are no problem at all!

Ok, I expected it to be lower and scraping speed bumps. Then my question still stands for people with extremely lowered cars and not so big wheels

And you're still not gonna get that (Gruppe 5?) race version across a speed bump with that spoiler

Good work

I have to work on some rust spots as well (including the spots under the rear side windows) so I better watch closely and learn
