I've got the original carb off my blue car sat in a box - it's the pierburg off a 1983 316 and was working OK right until I took it off. Free if you want it, can't beat starting a proper spare parts collection!

I (e21mad) just realised I owe you all an update. Dan never got to buy this car. despite the fact that Dan was very brave and talked the guy down on the price by £200.oo. I was very proud of him and he was over the moon. When his money did arrive....he spent it poorly despite my help and he lost the car. This was why he stopped talking to you all and in part why I left too, because I was embarrassed. Thank you all for the welcome and help you offered bigdan2. I am very pleased that a group such as yourselves exists and that he had a chance to see that. I thank you ALL for encouraging him and accepting him in to your group and I appologize for things not working out. I will keep helping Dan, and one day I will help him find another e21 as he tells me that is what he wants. He will be receiving another lot of money soon and I will try again to guide him toward the light. Again, thank you for being decent folk. 8)

Wondered what happened to Dan. I had the carb ready for him but ended up giving it to someone else. Best of luck to him whatever.

I suppose it doesnt. I guess it was because I got caught in the middle. Dan mucked about and I was the one that had to go to the seller with egg on my face. Thing was it didnt need to happen. He did it to himself. went through £20,000.00 in 3 months and all he has is playstation and x box games to show for it.
I found him another car and was teaching him to drive which was going well tillit came to studying for the theory. He stayed up playing games, spent his money on take aways , failed the test twice and then said he couldnt afford another retest. He left me with selling the car I helped him buy and the insurance policy I put him on with me so he could afford it. Luckily I was able to transfer the policy to the baur and avoid charges for early cancelation.
Sorry I dont know what happened to the car.
