We were going from Hayle up to Falmouth. It was funny yesterday as quite a few people came up and commented on the car. There was an old boy in Hayle who said, after asking who painted it, ''now you tell your mate, that a bloke you don't know, said he'd done a proper job there bay''. He was 70 if he was a day, had the most obvious wig I've ever seen and so I was a bit surprised when I saw him get into his car. It was a blue Focus 170 ST with split rims!

Just proves you should never judge a book by its cover.

Unless it's a Mills and Boon novel.

Just bought the very last copy of Total BMW in WH Smiths in downtown Douglas
Great article on MIB
and guess what Herman gets a mention and picture on page 12! So doubly glad I got the magazine- no wonder it is now sold out (in Douglas!)

[quote="e21-Mark"]Anyway, a few pics that show just what a terrific job they did with the e30. It feels like a properly built track car now and am looking forward to seeing how the times are at Brands on the 20th.
what were your times?
We were in damp conditions and 2 engines blew 1 x Jag 1x Corvette leaving trail of oil on start finish straight before/during both races- (we just broke into 56 secs)

We're at Brands again next Wednesday, so hopefully will have times then.

Well it was worth the effort. Nice article btw, sadly this place is mentioned often as e21.net... and that's the only domain I DON'T have lol wish the owner would part but people will find this place anyway
The first (2-page wide) photo is a beauty too, can't you get hold of that one?
And also saw the Manx Rally report in the same issue of TBMW with a picture of a well known E21 B6... TopCat's. So sad he didn't finish due to that broken driveshaft, he was doing great until then!

I'm sure I can get them to release the photos now they've been in print. I'll ask and mail them across to you. It's probably my fault they wrote e21.net as I tend to abbreviate the name in conversation. There have been a few calls via the BMW Car Club, since the mag came out, so I have told them to come here anyway.
It would be good for the UK e21 scene if we could get a strong turn-out at Gaydon this year. You'd be surprised just how many people aren't even sure what the e21 is. They think the 3 series started with the e30!

No prob! Re the picture, I can imagine you'd like to have that one, but it could be a nice eye catcher for the site's main page as well
One day we should make the trip across the pond with a bunch of Dutch E21's for a UK event as well, but looking at schedules it won't be this year.
E21 huh? With the intro of the new F30 3 series even dealerships forgot about the E21, popping up here in the last minute before intro day as they thought they had all 3 series models in their showroom until someone told them there used to be one before the E30 as well... sad but true

Hopefully the E21 is now gaining the recognition it deserves!
As you can imagine here on the Isle of Man where petrol runs through our veins the local BMW Dealership is a bit more clued up on where the 3 series started and is holding an Open Day on 4 and 5 August and they have asked Herman to attend as a sort of reminder as to where it all began!
http://www.buchananbmw.co.uk/
I am certainly not advocating a special trip to attend this show- but if you are over for Manx Grand Prix or similar then it might be fun to check it out!
I know how expensive the Steampacket can be (I have just fried my wallet organising 3 return trips over summer holidays with children to and from Inverness)
I will post up some photos afterwards
