I'll look forward to how that comes out.

It certainly suits the E92.

Really looking forward to seeing it painted too.

I owe a huge thank-you to Cat Camshafts. We are using there camshafts as opposed to the US M3 cams. If all goes to plan we should still see 240+ bhp without gas. We are going to do before and after dyno runs to see exactly what they give from a stock engine. The only mods will be bolt on and easily done by anyone else running an M52.

If your going to the trouble of cams and the engine is not in why not change the rods and stroke it. One of my pals has 280 bhp out of an m52 with off the shelf BMW second hand parts, re map and BBTB

There are 3 ways to stroke an M52 I think Matt. You can go as far as 3.2 but I guess it depends how much you want to spend?

By the time you add up the rebuild after stroking the capacity up you well into m3 engine territory.

Unless your good at engine rebuilds enough to DIY it.

I think it depends on the method you use and how cheaply you source the parts. I just missed a 330 bottom end last week that sold for £100.

The other factor is engine maintenance and the expense of something going wrong. M52's are terrific engines and they're cheap!

I'll stroke my engine if it turns up as a cheap option. If not, I'll be happy to stick with the 2.8, cams & inlet swap.

Crank and rods are main things. M50 rods and s50 crank is one way but m54 parts are interchangeable I beleive
