Clean work sir, and the cage, awesome. Nice progress! But, I was wondering if the front needs an additional cross bar, what are the thoughts on that?

Thanks Jeroen and Peter.
There will be another front cross bar - in the second picture and others you can see the short flat tubes with gold bolt heads in them on the front down tubes. These are where the cross bar will go, but I need to finish the install of the motor and all the rest of the stuff like the radiator and hoses first. Then I can make it so it clears everything, it will be out of 1.5" OD tubing just like all the rest of the cage.

Hi Jeroen I have been working on getting the dash in - but means I am making sure everything is done that is easier done with it out. Mostly looking and assembling in am mind at the moment.
Made a brake light switch holder for the Wilwood brake paddle assembly.

You're still using the 885 head in the engine aren't you? Which gaskets did you use on the larger intake ports?
Love this build, I've been following it on bimmer forms for a while now...

I need to look at the number on the head it is the E30 iS head - the used the stock gaskets and port matched the head to them. Intake gaskets for the head are way bigger then the ports in the intake manifold. Now sure how it is going to work not the best mating of intake to head

.

Should be an 885 head then, yeah the ports are almost squares, I'm doing the same sort of setup on mine as I refuse to use fuel injection although mine will mainly be a road car. 4 barrels are the way for combining power and economy, can't wait to see how yours goes.
A good 4 barrel is as close to a muscle car as most can get in the UK, though here cornering is essential.

Today I took the car for a ride.
To a friends place
Then strapped it down for some flogging
She gave me these results for my efforts.
Needs a little work on the engine but I am happy with the numbers!
Note the two runs that were 164 hp were done with the secondaries disconnected so it was running on a 195 CFM two barrel carb!
Pulls were done in fourth gear from 3,000 rpm to 7,500 rpm.

Was already wondering what was going on there, but there's life! And not a bad result at all! Also matches your hopes, or expectations?
