Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
It's only mock up. The new bolts etc are squirrelled away for final assembly once everything is clean and shiny.
The manifold was a Gumtree bargain. Delivered to my door for about forty quid! He'd bought it for his 328 but something happened to it before he'd had a chance to fit it. He was just glad to get a few beer tokens back on it. Fortunately it seems to need very little fettling (if any at all) to fit an e21. I don't know what brand it is but it's pretty nice.

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
Thanks.
I keep thinking I have everything to complete the build but I've just had to order new TCA! I opted to go for the Delphi one's on eBay but the prices seem to vary quite a bit. Mick (@Pristine) is fitting some bushes he had fabricated, that allow some adjustment. I will get some photos as they may be something other people could be interested in?
I think the next job is to clean and re paint the rear beam and diff. The rear exhaust hanger is all clean and ready to be welded in also. One other job we want to do is clean and paint the fuel tanks. We need to run a return fuel line as obviously 316's didn't have one. We're not sure where to mount the fuel pump yet either.
One day the ''jobs to do'' list will get shorter.

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
New brake kit arrived from WMS. They're very nice and super light.

Opted the replace the plastic thermostat housing with a nice alloy one.

I know an e21 interior is pretty basic but opted to go for a stainless gearknob from Storm.

Picked up another M3 although the paint isn't as nice as my other car.

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
It's a Custom Cages one fitted by Redish Motorsport. Fortunately they took the time to tie it in to the suspension turrets. I would like to tie it to the A & B pillars like your car though.
I also wanted to ask you where I can lose weight from the shell? I was going to remove the boot floor and rear bulkhead so they can be replaced with aluminium? Obviously fiberglass wings, bonnet & boot with poly windows but is there any more worth removing?

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
The pink M3 has gone to be converted into a Group A replica rally car by some pals of mine in Cornwall. ( www.rallyprep.co.uk ) and the 323 is going to be my track-day and sprint car. It's going to have Group2 arches, a 2.5/m20 & LSD etc (on coilovers)
Rally prep are also going to be building an e21 of their own, which I imagine will also be used in rallying. My friend Joe has already built a super nice e21 rally car and is just fitting an s50/3.0 to replace the m20/2.5 he was running. I'm off to Cornwall for a month so will get some photos. In fact, if he doesn't mind, I may start a thread covering the events he enters? I'll also include Rally Preps e21 build.

All sounds good. Wish I had time to do a bit of rallying or a bit of kumo competition racing

Re: Mark's M52/2.8 + nitrous
I love watching Rallying but there's not enough run-off area for my liking. Have you seen ''Love the Beast''? All that time, effort & $$$$$ and a split second it's over.
