Well the fan arrived today.

Kenlowe supplied it at a really good price too.

There is a manual adjuster which is far easier to use than the alternative which meant fiddling around with an electrical screwdriver.

This months wages have gone to have the head flowed and e34 inlet valves fitted. New valves, rockers and the camshaft is all ready to be fitted. The manifold arrived yesterday so we are on schedule to have the engine back in one piece before the car goes to the exhaust fabricators the middle of November. Have decided to go with no centre resonator box and just two free flow silencers which will cost between £400 and £500. Fingers crossed that should be the final major expense. I'm not sure if I mentioned it before but we are replacing all the bushes throughout with Superflex items too.

Kenlowe are proper bits of kit. I had one on me M3 and it was well worth the extra it cost me.

I spoke to Kirby of C3 on Wednesday night at Prept,Brands Hatch.Years ago he was an apprentice at Cheyne BMW and worked in their workshop in Fulham Palace Rd.Well.one day, they had a Polaris Silver TWR E21 in for some work.It turns out that Kirby took it for a "test run" up the M4 to the Heathrow junction and back.He got to the one way system at Hammersmith and managed, somehow.to 360 it.He remembers the car quite well,so maybe an email or a phone call might shed a bit more light on this car.It might've been the other Silver one as he seems to remember that it had Blue interior.Either way.............. :)
There's one out there with my name on it.

Well we've bolted on the head and manifold as the car is going to have a custom exhaust built/fitted tomorrow. It's being done in 3'' through-out as that's what the manifold was done in. No centre resonator, just 2 free flow silencers. It should sound awesome!

As soon as it's back from the exhaust shop we going to get stuck into getting it up and running again for the first time in a good few years.

It should sound good but I hope it doesn't drone too much! My 735i has a 3" exhaust with an middle silencer and backbox and it drones loud enough, I quite like it but my passengers don't seem too!

I'll quite happily ignore any passengers. Evidently it was always pretty loud anyway but I'll do what I can to encourage plenty of pops & bangs on overrun. ;)

I've been going through the service history that came with the car and it seems that it did wear Alpina stripes when it was first supplied but they were deleted. I'm thinking of retro fitting them as I would like it to look as it did when it was new. I'd like to get your input though please guys. Yes or No to the stripes?

I've decided against fitting them as I don't want people thinking it's just yet another Alpina replica. It was originally badged as a 323is so I'll re-fit that along with a couple of discreet TWR badges. I am hoping to locate an old Motorsport Centre window sticker or at least a picture of one I can copy.

I went to the local DVLA offices today as the registration number was changed after an earlier owner removed his private plate. It should have reverted back to its original number JUY 464X instead of WRU 906X. Anyway, they have said that they are prepared to give me the original plate back for free which means it now matches all the service records once again. I know it's not a big deal but its nice to have all the history with matching numbers again.

I dropped all the parts over to Dave @ M-tech yesterday although the car is actually at the exhaust fabricator. I can't wait till the system is done so that we can really crack on with getting things done. My goal is to have it at the Spring BMW event at the Ace Cafe.

If anyone manages to find an image of The Motorsport Centre or TWR window sticker please let me know and there's a beer in it for you.
