Well they made a great job of the exhaust. Just how I wanted it. Nothing too chav and it actually looks pretty much OE unless you've seen the standard system.
It sounds great and having seen just what a strangle hold the standard system must have been I'm glad it's gone. There's a definate improvement in performance too. I'll take some more pics once its up on a ramp but the quality of the pipe-work is fantastic.

I went to Birds HARTGE on the way home and they had a look to see if they could remember how they used to do their single wiper conversion on an e21. They were good enough to explain the process and give me the revised section of the linkage. They also gave me a set of alloy pedals which will look great once I fit them.

Must have been a while since they last had an e21 in their workshops.

They had a couple of lovely e30 M3's in complete with polished BBS and stretched rubber.
The burgundy leather retrim was just finished and looked awesome. Cost £5K though!

Cheers. It's gonna take some polishing though but should look really nice once it's had a bit of effort and some Autosol on it. There's a nice crackle & pop on over run too!
I'm going to try tinting the main beam lamps this weekend to see if I cam get the look of singles while retaining the extra light they give off. It's a free mod so worth a try.

No problems Jimmy. They were just seeing if they could remember exactly what they did to convert to a single wiper back in the day.--ALPINA-- wrote:mark, why did your car go into birds workshop for? you having any problems?

I've gotta say they were really helpful and let me look at all the old brochures etc. They are also going to see what bits they can still supply to fit an e21. I'm going to fit the alloy pedals in a minute.

The workshop where they did my exhaust was pretty small but the work they do was immpressive stuff. F1 cars and rally cars aswell as VX220's etc.

Hopefully will be going back early next year for a manifold to be made.

I thought of Gerrit when I saw all these little goodies.

Just about to go fit these to my car once the drill is fully charged.

I haven't taken any close-ups yet as if I keep them this way I want to do them again after soaking the film in hot water and stretching it over the lamps. I can be sure I won't have any imperfections that way.
So far, I have only been stopped once and they just warned me as they liked the look of them and they're still clear to read. They did suggest I keep the standards in the boot though as did Jimmy and a couple of others. It was the 'D' they had the problem with really.
I'm going to get the legal version from 'plate my ride' soon anyway.
