I can get myself into enough trouble with only 198 brake to be honest. Especially on wet roads! Another 60 will take a bit of self-imposed discipline. I know TWR weren't keen on fitting LSD's in an effort to try and keep the cars pointing in the right direction.

I got an e-mail back from Black Art Designs suspension/Eibach yesterday as I'd asked them about the progressive rate springs they had supplied to Alpina. They should have an idea of suggested spring rates & prices later this week.

Sad to hear of Tom Walkinshaw's death yesterday. Hopefully, there will be some media coverage showing his life and contribution to motorsport in general.

Not much to report on the 335 sadly and now Christmas & the New Year are going to be getting in the way. Dave Kear @ M-tech, who is doing the re-commissioning work, collected the workshop manuals and he also has all the parts to update the injection with a Motronic set-up taken from a later 635. Dave takes a lot of pride in his work and always finishes things to a high standard.

Someone else worked out that in todays money a TWR 335 would have cost £53 720. Bloody hell, that's a whole lotta cash for a 3 series!

The last chap to have my car on the road did call me yesterday and he has been kind enough to find a load of old paperwork etc. He also found the old TWR fabricated air box, although it may need extensive repairs. In fact, it might just be simpler to use it as a template and have a new one made instead?

£53..K !!!!!!!! OUCH!!! Gona be worth a pretty penny or two when completed if M.I.B is anything to go by..

P.s mines 100% being sprayed after new year... found a very good place and price in park royal.. so should be hopefully up and running again around the same time as you i hope...

Well, list price on a new B3S BiTurbo is knocking on the door of £50k for the saloon version, so it's not such a stretch.

The previous owner with the airbox and other bits mailed me again today so hopefully I'll have it fairly soon. I don't imagine it's anything too trick though as we're talking 1982 and it's been knocking about in various workshops since. We shall see.

I just want Christmas & New Year out of the way now, so we can make some real progress!

The goal is to have it at the Ace Cafe on 8th May 2011 at the BMW show season opener!

The exhaust system is finally finished and so things should start to move forward next week.

The manifold, that was supposedly a straight fit, needed extensive modification in order to clear the knuckle on the steering column. I'll post some photos next week so that anyone else looking to use one of these manifolds can see exactly what is needed to make them fit properly.

The good fellows at www.zeroexhausts.co.uk finished the exhaust this week. The manifold actually came via Fritz Bits but, despite being supplied for an m30/e21 conversion, needed modification to stop it fouling on the steering. Anyway, the system itself is a dual 50mm with twin free flow silencers. It should sound lovely and it looks pretty sweet too!

The car should be back at the workshop on Wednesday and then the head can come back off and go to have the flow work done. As I may have mentioned before, we are also fitting the slightly larger inlet valves from an e34 to combine with the Cat Camshaft. Obviously there will be all new followers etc and I'm told there's a way of incorporating dual oil spray bars but that needs some more research.

Thanks to Tony BMW I now have a replacement for the missing oil cooler. It comes from an E12 M535i so I'm 99% certain it will be exactly the same as the original.

Anyway, a few piccies...

Don't like the idea of the pipes not going over the diff and being that close to the driveshafts; obviously it tucks in quite nicely round the back of an Alpina diff cover, but I'm worried how close to Mother Earth it would be on a car as low as The Luger will be and having full range of unhindered movement for the shafts.
