Polished up my Fondmetals to a nice stain sheen, tried one on the back hub only to find that they need longer wheel studs, just like my BBS wheels. Normal studs only go into the hubs HALF AN INCH.
I shudder to think that the guy that had them before me was driving around like that on all four wheels on his car for over a year.
Anyone know where to buy longer studs over the counter?

DC your car is awesome i bet its immense.

Meister - you tried ringing round your local accessory shops - alloy wheel type places. (not halfords lol)

Today - I finalised the e30 pump install and double checked all my wiring, and tested it - bit better now!
Fitted the rear seats back in and then vaccumed out the interior and treated all the vinyl.
Painted the front brake disks (they were a little rusty)
Went to the shop and got a meguires clay bar kit.
Then washed and dried the car, then used this clay stuff for the first time. using quick detailer as a lube. It picked up a fair amount of stuff i think nothing too shocking.
Then waxed the car and detailed the wheels and fitted BMW type centercaps.

it got dark by the time i finished packing things away (no pics) - cleaning takes forever.

Totally forgot that good old Speed Shack in Yiewsly (a local mecca for the Ford crowd since the 80's) usually have a goodly selection of different nuts, studs etc.
Always handy having them down the road, along with a breakers that's next door to a DVLA pound (and gets their ahem, keepers) and Power Engineering, who just happen to have full tracking and four wheel alignment gear, a rolling road and owners I get on well with...

Well, he did point out to me recently that he had (to the best of his knowlege) used standard studs with them.
His lookout I guess and I'm not holding it against him, its just something I wouldn't be happy with, considering I had longer wheel studs on my 7 inch wide BBS wheels and they (the studs) are cheap as chips to buy.

You actually asked ''do your old wheels fit with normal studs?'' to which I replied, ''yes, afaicr''. I haven't used standard studs since I've owned my car as I've had several sets of rims on it. Wheel bolts are deemed perfectly safe so long as there are 4 full turns of thread into the hub.

Tonight I fitted my anti roll bar to my 323i M50 VERY BADLY!!! and ended up crashing

After fitting it and took it out for a test drive to see if it was ok and I ended up smashing the car up a grass bank. The car didn't feel right at all so I slowed down, then right in a middle of a straight stretch of road I lost the car completely going broadside into a bank. Pretty scary stuff, I thought I was going to roll the car and get seriously hurt but I'm just going to have a stiff neck instead. I got towed off the bank and limped the car home. It seems fine driving it and looking underneath it seems ok too, the ARB will be removed immediately and I'll get the steering alignment checked too. I think I must of torqued down the ARB incorrectly from side to side...

mark you cant buy another 1.......... can you?

today i fitted my new n/s suspension arm off ebay. and ive made some polybushes to work with the standard antiroll bush to stiffen it up.
i cant believe how much better it drives! :)
and i still need to fit an o/s track rod end when it comes.
