hi

I won´t use it on road because It is quite hard to register it here with all racing stuff I want - I don´t want to make compromises like suspension, interior, bushings and exhaust.

Roxanne is name of car, my wife is Lenka

I am satisfied and I will upgrade this setup during winter to get better results

212 hp - i assume thats a figure at the wheels? not bad effort for an m10!

weight was 932kg (2054lbs)
57% sits on front

weight was good surprise for me and performace test results are good also
(using Racelogic Driftbox with GPS)
0-100 km/h (0-60mph) - 6,3s
1/4 mile in 14,5s
0-160 (0-100mph) - 12,7s
0-200 (0-125mph) - 21s

maximum speed with 4,1 LSD was 215 km/h (135 mph) - it was well over 6000 rpm

finally I am very satisfied but have to improve it - better weight distribution, new high-pressure fuel system, 300° cam from dbilas, digital boost controller, brakes and tires :-)

Are you sure about using the 300 cam in a boosted M10?
300 is a very tasty normally aspirated cam in an M10 but i don't think it'd work so well with boost. I'm thinking you'll need to rev it up to 7500-8000 to get the best out of it and you won't have anything below about 3000 . Uprated rocker arms aren't cheap!!

Nice dyno plots though. Looks like a fun engine to drive :)

I am gonna try it, because I had exactly this cam in this engine before turbo and it was perfect from 3000 till 7000 and also other guys with high power turbo M10 machines are using similar cams and they have over 400hp. I know about need of stiffer dual springs and uprated rockers - winter is quite long here so I have time for buying better stuff :-)

The car is really fun - performance is similar to E36 M3 3,2 which is more than I expected

I can`t believe my eyes ..... really i can`t.

Finally i found the topic i was searching for .... almost 4 months were gone while i was searching for this topic & this car.

DC, i was trying to contact you with no hope over you mail ... (M10 power@hotmail) or something close to it.

I have E-21 M10B20 runing with L-jetronic E-30 head .... the same as your in the early beginning . :)
now the compression is low (8.1 : 1) i guess ... due to the bigger chamber of M10 E-30 head and flat top pistons on M10B20 E-21 block.

Now, i have found the S14 engine, without ECU, Airflow meter & wirning.

and then i thought about you & get use of the ITB`s onto my current setup.....but then came to the difficulties, which i guess are too much and costly.

Why i took all that hard effort to put the ITB`s of the S14 on the M10 .... i thought its just simpler than this ....

but the question, have you noticed a clear change in the performance of your engine after using the S14 ITB`s on stock L-Jetronic System. ???

I`m going Mega soon, just gathering cash :S

Is it better to use the full S14 head on my M10B20 block ??? what are the possibilities of matching S14 head on M10B20 block

i`m very sorry for the blue E-21 ... was just close to one of my friends car ... :)

I guess that to reach your setup i will have to spend almost 3000 USD on my car :'(

just for info, the M10 block that u r using is stock internals or what ???

and sooner i will ask you several question about prices of things you bought .... like ARP`s and several things.

Please keep in touch with me as i will need you support in my project ...

I will also keep you posted with everything ....

this is my topic ( http://www.bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12898 )

Thanks & Regards

ITB is not a big advantage over standard manifold when you turbo your car.

S14 is very good engine for turbo because of better flowing 16V head - if you can get that engine than buy it and megasquirt it ;-)

S14 has quite different water system than M10, so heads are not interchangeable :-/

I have completly reworked internals to make low compression and 2,15 displacement (92x80mm)

good luck ;-)

Thanks for the reply ... and always keep us informed of your progress.

I think i will stick to the original manifold, as you said not a big advantage the ITB`s.

could you please share me a photo of your exhaust manifold just to be able to make a copy of it to use in my process.

Thanks ;)

we have some progress here :-)

new wheels - 17" Azev A - they will be superb for 300mm front brakes and they offer me 10% bigger rear tires - so aswell higher maximal speed
Image

next thing - new fuel cell for better weight distribution and reconditioned fuel tubes and hoses
Image

and then only minor things
fog light to pass our MOT
Image

new air filter
Image

and daylight photo of belts

today I have finally found time for camshaft exchange - no pictures from work, just this comparison

I desperately want to test it, but there is tough winter out here :nah
