Read the hole thred and well impressed mate. There's 4 or 5 really nice motors on here where you can see the hard graft rather than just throwing a big wedge at it and having someone else twirl the spanners! I like the 2 headlight front ends to. Good work mate! Is it much quicker now?

cheers Asif, yea I didnt give my car, can't afford to waste money on labour if I can do it myself!

I have only really.driven it on the safe mode map, due to a dodgy maf, but it certainly has made a big difference, nice smooth power, lots of torque. can be scary shit in the rain but the LSD helps with that.

its the 24v noise that I like, it sounds just like an early e36 m3.

once I take it off the road for winter, I will be looking at increasing engine performance, the m50 is a tough engine. so 7500 rpm rev limit increase, m3 cam, custom fuel map. should see me at 230 - 240hp.

more than enough power for now.

in fact I should get off the forum, n go fit my newly cleaned injectors!

With your MAF issue/vac leak have you got the ICV plumbed back into the inlet somewhere? The ICV needs to be fed back in after the MAF.

stupid vac leaks! the m50 manifold doesn't seal very well and that took me a few goes.

I think I have sorted it now, ICV is now attached to the elbow and thats what I think my error was. it seems to run much better.

so decided to go round the block, I set off at some traffic lights then floored it at 3000rpm - it spun its wheels so I grabbed second and it spun !again! before gripping and hurtling up to 60 lol its just hooliganism.

I've not driven far enough for the ecu to relearn its fuel map properly yet. I suppose it will probably be even better.

yea the stock e21 lsd, ppl will pay 500 for one in unknown condition. as they are plate type they wear out, so imo a false economy buying a 30 year old diff.

so most ppl just weld the stock open diff.

i splashed out on a quaife atb lsd diff, they convert your stock housing. its not cheap... in fact cost more than the whole car when i bought it a year ago!

I might try quaife one. I had a welded dif before and didnt like it to be honest. It felt awful. I might have found a car!! Its an old kumo race car - well shell anyway - but its sposed to be rock solid. boot and bonnet are fibreglass tho so will flog or swap them. Goin to see it next week in Newcastle!

The only e21 race i knew of newcastle was an ex rally car, (Lived there f0r 10 years and probably owned/fragged most of the e21 in the area back when £100 was a bit step for a 323i needing an mot)

So check the floors, and front chassis legs for damage/welding
