In the new year Jimmy. I need to refurb' it all first and I want to rent a small garage / workshop so that I can do the basic stuff myself. Hopefully, I can just get the injectors and turbo done professionally although as the turbo is a Porsche 944 unit, I reckon I should be able to source a replacement pretty cheaply.

I like it because it was always designed to work with a stock engine etc. I'll bring it over some time so you can take a look.--ALPINA-- wrote:Hi mark, so what fannymold is that then? i wouldnt mind doing a conversion like that just to give it that extra kick but not going thru any process again by changing pistons to low compression to give high boost e.t.c.

One ignition module later and the little 316 is up and running again.
I'm going to give it a full service and then it's going to become the daily e21.
I'm thinking about getting a cover for the 323 as we don't have a garage where we live. There are some but they are pretty expensive at around £30 per week. I've been offered a really good quality cover that's designed to cope with the UK winter and they are less that £60 which seems like pretty good value. Just wondered if anyone else uses a car cover and can suggest anything I should be looking out for?

Been re-discovering the delights of the m10. I had to replace the ignition module and have some checks done but the 316 is finally all insured and being used as a daily. I'm going to use the 323 a bit less as I want to keep it rust free and away from winter roads and salt.
I'm replacing the standard steering wheel as it gets in the way a bit getting in and out. I also need to either replace or repair the clutch slave cylinder as it's started leaking. I knew it would because it's sat unused for so long and the rubber seals seem to harden really quickly. Anyway, a new one is only £16. I'm also going to be fitting a towbar as we have a van in Cornwall and I want to be able to shift it around.
New wheel.

The 323 is still great although I went to having it dyno'd on Saturday and as we pumped the rear tyres up for the rollers one of the tyre walls bubbled out. Hence my looking for new rubber. At least it never blew out on the dyno though. I'm on the lookout for a garage but they are so expensive round here - £170 a month!
- so it might have to be a decent car-cover instead.

Nice looking motor Mark - I wondered if it was yours when I saw the feature a few weeks back - I hadn't seen this thread - but it was when you changed the picture at the bottom of your posts to 'tangoed' that gave it away!
I like those MSW alloys you had - are they hard to come by? Are they only a problem fitment wise if you've had the car lowered?
Cheers, Paul

I've seen a few sets about but despite supposedly being the right offset my car was just too low for them? The Fondmetal rims I'm running now are supposed to be the identical size yet they don't rub?pjksutherland wrote:Nice looking motor Mark - I wondered if it was yours when I saw the feature a few weeks back - I hadn't seen this thread - but it was when you changed the picture at the bottom of your posts to 'tangoed' that gave it away!

I'm going to switch to coilovers eventually so that I can play with ride heights and spring rates.
Also plan to fit a leather rear seat from an e24 and dye the carpet black to match. Might wait till Spring though unless I can find a garage to rent that isn't extortionate!
