Nice to see your car in the flesh mate and a really great colour for an e21.Also good to see an original beige (pergament?) trim in such good shape .
No plans to put the boot spoiler back on ?,always liked them myself

Thanks for the comment guys.
Nice to meet you tim, the interior looks ok from a distance and the trim is not ripped at all, but the front seat bolsters are complete flattened and provide no comfort at all! Hence I'm on the hunt for some beige recaros. Ideally I'd love to get the front recaros and trim them in the same material as the rest of the seats (i.e. non leather). Retrimmers cost a fair bit of wedge though and not sure if I'm handy enough with a sewing machine!
I thought long and hard before removing the spoiler, but in my opinion I prefer the shape of e21's without them, especially when they aren't in mint condition (rubber fades and sags a bit).

Just had the MOT done on the car. Passed only requiring one patch weld in the inner wheel arch.
Don't wanna be paying for anymore welding so I've got bruce booked in to be waxoyled in Doncaster this Wednesday. £260 but hopefully in the long run it will be worth it, especially as my car isn't garaged.

Just been thinking of getting mine done before the end of the summer. Do they give an anti corrosion warranty like the place in Hatfield?

waxoil treatment is only as good as the person putting it on. as with anything like this excisting surface rust needs treating before the application other wise the rust carries on rusting under the waxoil.
also is this waxoil the same black gummy shit im thinking of? where no matter what job your doing on the car you get covered in it head to foot!

Yeh that's the stuff Murran!
Mark, these are the guys I'm using

As far as I can see there is no anti corrosion warranty? Which place in Hatfield offers this service? I'll defo be interested in seeing what they offer, also how much do they cost?

The stuff these guys use isn't available outside of the trade and they also steam clean and dry the underside of the car prior to treatment. The stuff they use can be checked with ultra violet to confirm that everywhere is thoroughly coated too.
I like the idea of a 4 year guarantee against corrosion myself.

That sounds pretty good actually, only thing is it's around £400. May give him a call to see if he can budge a bit on price, spending that amount is way outa my comfort zone! Then again I'd rather do that that and avoid having to weld patches every 6 months.
When are you thinking of doing yours we could maybe book two together and see what he can sort out?

I'm looking at around August I think? It's certainly worth asking. E21's aren't exactly large cars to do either.

Just spoke to Michael at rustmaster now, he's agreed a price of 300 all in.
Which is great as the JR place uses an older product and doesn't have a 5 year guarantee. Would prob cost me that £40 extra in getting to Doncaster and back too!
25% off the asking price isn't bad at all! He offered £340 initially but I pushed him a bit and he offered me 300 if I booked in then, so I'm now booked in for Wednesday 8am. Apparently takes about 4 hours. I'll take a camera with me to take some snaps too.

I'll have some of that come August.
