Spotted a white (yes a white one in the uk!) E21 opposite my friends house on Saturday, am planning to take a pic of it next time I'm around and maybe knock on the door, see who it is...

This one appeared about 18 months at a local vehicle recovery depot. Story is that the guy owns it has had it laid up in a council garage for numerous years paying monthly rental. The guy that owns it is good friends with the yard owner and he offered to store it for free albeit outside. I tried to buy it 18 months ago with no luck. Went to the yard last week to see it still sat there, asked again but he doesn't want to sell. Apparently its his 'baby', pity to see it sat there rotting away, looked really clean when it first appeared

Aww noo, was hoping it would still be about, he still has loads of paperwork for it too.
He said it was an actual alpina, at least he bought it thinking it was one...it has the spoiler on the back etc...
funnily enough, talking to him more now he said that there were 5 of them who used to meet up, 2 had e21s and 3 had 2002s, he's trying to dig out their pics and numbers to see if any are left

Tommi, do you mean you smell some seriously home made stinky Bullshit ?? if so, do you mind telling how you think its not an alpina like in your view what an alpina should look like, whats the differences to this alpina and the ones you know? just being absent minded at the moment. 8)

It looks like a car that has had a lot of Alpina parts from the extras list straight from the dealers, as opposed to a car specifically built by an Alpina-endorsed third party (or by Alpina themselves). No shame in that, I like old cars with the optional extras book thrown at them. 8)

I didn't think dealers supplied Alpina parts back then? Didn't they just come via TWR and later, Sytners?

looking at that pic, the stripes look a little small too me, no front alpina splitter, comfert seats going by the head rests, no rear head rests so a bit poverty spec, ride height looks to high to me.

just doesnt quite look the part in my mind, i could be very wrong
