They'd spent a while sorting corner weights and getting spring/shock & ARB combination sorted and it was actually pretty neutral. It pulled like a train out of the slow stuff too.
I have found this with my car too - not sure whether you can get the engine as far back in an e21 without substantial firewall mods though.

I have my motor in Position 3 (Hartge H35 position) and the hammering is not that bad with the e34 engine. I only moved the firewall back about 5mm. The handling is virtually unchanged from when the M20 was in there in most situations.

At the moment I'm running stock sway bars - if I fitted a slightly heavier front sway bar I think you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference from the M20.

Andy - I know a couple of guys that have snapped up the M635s from the UK in recent times :) Maybe one day we'll start exporting them back to the UK with our good weather down here.

I had the m50 in my e21 and I had to spent a lot of time with getting my suspension right.

when I first put the engine in it was terrible but just before I took that engine out I had brilliant / sharp / neutral handling.

I may have some suitable seal wire that can be used for ringing the block, but i will need to check the spec. if any one wants any.

more recently i have been looking at the m42/44 builds, stroked with the m47 crank m44 rods and s52b32 pistons, quite like the look of that.

Spoke to the engine guy, don't need to "O" ring the block, that's for serious HP, so that's that.
so i'm hoping for something ike this. :launch
