Seems there's a special e21 display.

Just spotted this posted on the BMW CC forum.....

It is very dissappointing the response thus far to requests for cars at Gaydon...10 are currently booked, I have written many times in the club magazine this year and on this cosy forum to little or no avail.

Those booked at Gaydon please ensure I have your car details before this Friday - I've tried contacting you.

I have a professionally created Newsletter and articles by E21 celebrities but no-one to send it to - perhaps you'll all come out of the woodwork at the weekend, or maybe not as per previous Gaydons.

The inaugural E21 Register event this year is at the Goodwood circuit in Sussex on November the 7th, it is at their well known Breakfast Club: I would like also to have a more northern meeting but am loath to suggest anywhere - perhaps some proactive soul might mention somwhere: but not Lerwick.

Commemorative badges for attendees.

I do really look forward to seeing some of you on Sunday, I am trying to have one of my own cars ready but it still lacks wheels - I was let down earlier in the year...someone has come to the rescue but not in time (that's my fault), but I might just have set of Alpinas on for the day!

Best wishes, Jon Foster (aka Galileo) E21 Register Chairman.

I'm sure it's just a co-incidence that it should appear just after several of us contacted the car club.

Lets just make one thing clear. The e21 display is down to the fact that forum members here contacted the car club and that I paid the bill. Had we not sorted this out ourselves there would not be an e21 section at Gaydon this year!

That's probably because a lot of E21 owners aren't BMWCC members because - and here comes the irony - every E21 owner I've come across feels the CC do little or nothing for E21 members! Image
Only now does Mr. Foster make an effort because he's been embarrassed into doing it.

I've been a member of the BMWCCGB for years and my E21 has been on the E21 register for ages.A couple of years ago the BMWCCGB contacted me to ask if i would like my car photographed for an E21 article in Car and Classic magazine. You've seen the photos in owners gallery,no doubt. On that occassion i was contacted by the club secretary, not the E21 register secretary. The club have my details, obviously.
I have not been contacted by anyone from the BMWCCGB with regard to any "special event"for E21's and my address and phone numbers have never changed.
Mr Forster says he has posted information on this forum on a number of occasions.I can't find them.
In the past i have tried to contact the registry.I didn't get a reply.
There have been write ups in the Straight Six club magazine but only for the last couple of months. That's FAR too late.I posted "Happy Birthday" in the Meetings section,LAST YEAR!.
Why i keep renewing my membership,i don't know. The club offer no benefits to me as an E21 owner. The only meet i go to as a member is Gaydon so i'm wasting my money, really.
Apparently there are 47 members in the BMWCCGB that own E21's Mr Forster only has records for 15.If i was registrar i would drop the other 32 bods a line!
He has also stopped posting on the club forum because of a "small coterie of contributers and viewers".
Try and drum up some members from this forum Mr Forster, don't just post snotty remarks twice a year and then dissappear.
We are now in the middle of August and NO E21 specific meeting as taken place.SHAME!
This is not all down to the BMWCCGB,we must shoulder a large part of the....blame,for want of a better word.

I say.....Shame on us for not honouring our little friend.....the E21

We all have an opportunity to right a terrible wrong on Sunday, see you there.
There's one out there with my name on it.

I only rejoined as it's a requirement of my Classic car policy. I know how you feel.

49 now (as I've rejoined and stated my two E21s on my membership). He'll know my name once I join the CC forum. Not for nothing have I been called a firebrand by a moderator on the Retro Rides forum...

I honour the E21 every day in my head, I daresay most people on here do too. Just wish the CC thought the same. They will...

Damn straight gaz, I hope they're a little shocked when we all roll up at once at Gaydon. They won't be mistaking our motahs for a bloody 2002 or E30 once we're done with them.
