Hire a trailer or a towing dolly. They don't cost much and it'd be insane to go to all the amazing effort you have on this car and not do a proper job on the bay!

Got the subframe and ARB assembled this evening:

Then it snowed, which was annoying.

More to be done on Thursday and over the weekend.

Have you got access to anything with a towbar I might be able to get a dolly. Painting it outside at the moment would be like playing Russian roulette. Did your painter give you any left over paint ?

I've got a very small amount of paint left over. I've got a gazebo that has detachable sides, so we can fully enclose the engine bay? I want to get cracking with paint ASAP really.

It's too cold, windy and wet to do your bay outside at the moment honestly. I did mine in summer and before I had unit. I would rather push it the qtr mile to the unit than try and do it outside. I did a wheel mobile today and that was bad enough. You could probably do with getting another qtr of the paint mixed and we will paint it with solvent and clear the same as the out side. Give me a bell tomorrow when you are free

Got some work done on the car today.

Petrol tanks painted, and then a good thick coat of underseal applied.

Image

I then prepped the inlet manifold and rocker cover, under the site lamps which produce at least the required 16°c to make the paint wrinkle correctly.

Then applied the paint and let the lamps do their work. The results are fantastic and I'm very impressed. I'll sand up some of the details and it should complete the look really well.

I also got my fuel return line fitted. The engine bay is pretty much ready for paint too.

In what way?...

(The petrol tanks are upside-down in that picture if that's what you're thinking?)

Later cars have two seperate tanks with a link pipe between them. Your early car has a single tank. :thumbsup
