did you grease up those rusty rear brake pipes you mentioned before? if theres grease on them they'll not look twice at them, as it classes as a protective coating, and as such the're not allowed to remove it. (believe it or not!)

Yeah gonner slap a load of grease ont pipes and underseal those front chassis rails. Not been for a test drive (no insurance yet and units right next to a bacon shop) so it could be an interesting day

If you dont mind, can i ask how much you paid for the insurance, who with and did you declare all the mods, i only ask because ive been trying to insure mine today after a similar engine conversion, it was a 323 before and i was paying £150 now with the 325 lump cheapest quote i got was £350.

Standard i was paying 118 with Lancaster. Declared all mods and got it for 250 with Adrian Flux. Thats with pretty limited mileage though, but my odo doesnt work anyway

Limited mileage is the key to a low premium tbh. A swap from 2.3 to a 2.5 shouldn't make any difference on a limited mileage policy either. I found Lancaster were cheapest, till I had a claim anyway. I think I'm with Chaucer now. You can always get a better quote if you talk to them on the phone as opposed to just using sites like Go Compare etc. It also helps if you're a BMW Car Club member as a lot of insurance companies offer a discount. Obviously getting a tracker or Thatcham approved alarm makes a difference too. In fact, I needed both to insure my M3 at a reasonable price.

Had a cheeky drive in it today. Only like a hundred meters up and down the road. AWESOMENESS!! Dunno if the exhausts still blowing a bit but it sounds quality. Checked me brake pipes, dunno what the guys who MOT'd it last were on about. There all undersealed without a spot of rust on em.

it will sound different to the 320 as the 325 is in a higher state of tune. might just be that?
stick your hand with a rag or sumurt over the exhaust. should generate pressure in the exhaust and any leaks become even more present.

Haha, its what it was registered with mate. As wierd as it is, its not a private plate. Proper X'Reg 1981 plate.
If it was the other way around it would be worth loads more than the car!
