In fairness all I have done is project manage the build and research & locate parts etc. Apart from the trimmer we should be on the final push to get the build finished.
I'm sure it'll be thirsty but I'm not too concerned as it's only going to be a weekend car. I have a feeling it's going to be rather addictive though!

Just spent the past hour readin up on this car.

I new it woz special but wow mark! This has gotta be about the rarest Alpina e21 out there man! Has the other guys car gotten any closer to being back in one bit? Have you got fotos of the interior? Am guessing its gonna be as mint as the rest? If this build goes like mib your gonna be needing a show trophy cabnet.

The interior, or what I saw of it all those months ago, was in really lovely condition. Even the seat squabs are mint but seeing as no-one has sat in them for 20 something years I guess it's not that surprising. The 3 spoke Alpina wheel in the earlier photos is coming off and being sold, to be replaced by the TWR 4 spoke design wheel. Then there are Alpina clocks and gearknob and the Pioneer ICE.
Being realistic we're still a few weeks away but it's definitely getting there.

My Mrs has a thing about naming our cars. The TWR is Tom, MIB is Ginger, the 02's are Freda & Mylene and the e30 is Ruby2. I'm sure the track e21 will get a name when she finds out about it.

"That sort of thing will get you in serious trouble, worked for me!"
well done drjim
you beat me to it........
Of course the TWR is TOM-- makes sense, I suspect the racecar may be Bernd?
please nb Mark your Mrs is not alone! I too name classic cars
my Classic car names are:
Butch
Camilla
CJ
Daisy
Herman
Big Red
the rest are boring modern cars called by their marques- nothing to be ashamed of only proper classics have/deserve names!!
Our dull Nissan Pathfinder troopcarrier can only be a boring Nissan...............the MG ZTT estate the same and the so boring I am going to fall asleep RAV4 - ditto!! Key is that we did 750 miles last week in 16 hours in Nissan through snow and a FULL Load from CchVel- each has its use.
And now she has just done the return...........
Anyway do refer to your fleet by name- makes for good reading!

That's moving on a bit now Mark, very envious of this car and it's history. I think you're the best person to own it as well, if anyone else had gotten hold of it i'm sure they wouldn't have spent countless hours tracing it history like you have and i really like the idea of keeping the car as 'factory' as possible. It will make for a great display at the shows this year along side your orange one.
