Yeah, we've spoken about it and I'm going over on Monday to go through everything before the car itself comes back from the trimmer mid-week. It's just a shame that I've wasted 18 months! As you say, it'll be done right this time around.

It happens to all of us ,mate.12 weeks and the summer is here. Then you'll be doing the magazine carousel all over again, this time in,arguably, the worlds rarest E21.
Slowly catchy monkey.

Went over to Pristine today and spent a couple of hours going through all the stuff taken back from the original mechanic.

Not a pleasant first sight.

Image

The ex M535 engine Jason sold me has been left to rust after the sump and timing chain cover were removed. God knows why? It scrap now either way.

Image

We went through all the boxes but sadly there is stuff missing. The seats are just filthy and a lot of the smaller trim bits will have to be junked and replaced instead. The bumpers are pretty good but I have a new replacement front Alpina spoiler.

The Recaros are in awesome condition. They are absolutely mint and all the bolsters remain firm. They're about the best unrestored seats I've seen.

Because I want to keep the original seats mint I will probably fit these instead though.

I might try and find one that's a better match Mind you, I might just sell the Alpina ones to help fund the restoration.

I would have resorted to violence perhaps..

It really annoys me when you trust your car to someone and they treat it like as if its from a scrap yard.

This idiot had no pride that he was restoring possibly the rarest and most expensive e21 there is in the country. Especially after you gave him plenty of time and money and many chances.

Hope he doesn't ruin anyone elses dream.

Who is this clown ?

I wouldnt put the Alpina seats in it, they dont recline and are out of an E28 and you wont get the rear seat to fit.

They do recline & they're not e28 seats.

Put the TWR seats in. an original car is an original car. if you treath the seats right. they will be mint for the next 15 years. those Alpina seats won't do any good. Sell them and buy some decent seat covers so you can put them off at a carshow or something. Same difference.
