Polishing BBS = boring.
Decided to break out the Dremel and sort the couple of spots of kerb rash. Once the rims are done I'll give it a wash & wax and fit the new kidney grill I've had in the cupboard.
Gonna wind the dampers up a couple of clicks to run a bit firmer.

Opened garage door this morning then closed it cos it looks like it might rain.
Seriously though. wish i had more time the edition 38 show is in a few weeks. i wanted to get my 2.8 in by then.
Will have to postpone. i am determined to do it soon though my e21 is getting boring again.

Delivered some rims to Oxford this afternoon. Had an X5 driver flash his lights and wave me out the way so I just floored it instead.

I looked at the wiring for the speakers, my ISO plug/loom from ebay, my new stereo and speakers from ebay, the wires in the car, worked out what to do, and by tomorrow afternoon will have working bluetooth stereo/handsfree in the Baur. Just need Shaun to buff the paint and get some new tyres.
Pondered an engine upgrade for the slug too - current thought is an M52B28 with M50 intake and/or a supercharger.

I'm wondering if the standard diff can live with an M52B28 for a few thousand miles of abuse.

Have you got your original 3.91 diff on? I suspect that the ratio will help the diff survive.
I'll be talking to you about the idea, also need help locating a suitable cheap donor car!

I think my standard LSD is coping fine with regular driving too. I've only done a 1000 miles on it since the swap. A supercharger might change that though? Mind you, I think you might be content with the 220 or so you can get with an inlet swap on the 2.8 anyway.

brake pedal was sticking yesterday and was worried it was going to be something a little more serious, it got to the point where when i took my foot off the pedal, the brake lights would stay on so something had to be done. had a nosey around, took the panel under the dash off and whacked out some thick grease and bilt hamber ferrosol for good measure and greased up every joint for the brake pedal i could find, turned the car on, pumped the brake pedal several times to let things work in, greased and oiled again, pumped again, took it for a 7-8 mile drive got back....no more sticky pedal and brake lights go off when i want them too
it's nice when there are simple fixes

Fitted 4:1 Quaiffe LSD in the track car today. Combined with close ratio gearbox the gearing is pretty low which makes for rapid acceleration. Ideal for sprints & hillclimbs.
Rear offside shock started knocking. Closer inspection revealed this...
