After that, we started on the front valance. I had it sandblasted, because of all the crap there was on the backside. Frontside they didn’t blast, because that would bring to much heat in tho the panel, causing it to twist and bend. But what I didn’t know by then…
Rust under the paint. So I had no option but to make it all blank..

On with the doors! My doors were in not such a good shape. Especially my left door, which was totally rotten. I replaced it with another door I had sitting in my garage, but that’s also not the best example around. Solid base but some rust.
So we cleaned it up and grinded away the sealant.
This door has seen more painters in it’s life, see the bad job and drips… also several layers of paint.

I forgot to get the sound deathening matrial out of the door. Once painted, I will fit a large new mat.
The right door is in a pretty good nick. After sanding we found transportpaint (don’t know if this is the propper English for it) but, I mean the black coating new panels come with. So somewhere the car has been fitted with a brandnew door.
And some paint. First primer, and also onto some hinges and nuts and bolts

I also had the inside of the valance done, because it is better protected an more solid now.
But i had something missing on my car. The car has once been converted to type 2, but lateron converted back to type 1. Somewhere in history the valance has been addet to the car, a new part, but without the br in the middle. Original it's welded onto the valance, but mine doesn't have it. This piece...
