this is the inside, does anyone know why there is this strengthing bar on just onside? bmw after thought maybe???
I'm hoping you're kidding about not knowing what that bar is - that contains the fuel pipe from the tanks to the filler cap.
Hope you haven't tried to cut it off.
Gulp...

not really true, still wondering what its for

OK not quite true, It contains the breather pipe to the tank. Still wouldn't cut through it though as you might find yourself on the roof of your house in pretty quick order.Thijsse wrote: not really true, still wondering what its for

i pulled that pipe out of my car, and as far as i can remember (its a few years back), it had a breather hose in it (im running a custom tank, so dont need it anymore). it looks like it adds structural value to the car, but it doesnt. its held in with a couple of tack welds and some glue stuff. if you cut it through the middle, you can break it out with your bare hands (although, im quite strong... haha)

got the supercharger home last night but havent started the rebuild yet. need to wait till the end of the month so i can buy an engine stand and get my new engine up on that and start stripping it apart to make room for the charger so can start making the mounting plates. will update with pics as i go but the engine project may have to slow down a little as i prepare for run to the sun
got some piccy updates

ohhhhhh der merc turbocharger box

one nicely packaged warrenty return supercharger

4 x 2 litre pistons with the tops cleaned up and shaved down 2mm to lower the compression a little. idealy i want turbo pistons to run more boost but will do the job for now
as i have 2 m10 block i may build 2 eventually and have 1 block which i put lotssssss more effort into
where is cheapest place to buy reusable head bolts (high tensile) for the m10
