Tommi,

Was searching for mahle pistons and found the 2002 turbo's were running 6.9:1.

Thicker spacer may be required!!

but 02 turbos also had pants injection and all sorts of other teething problems, massive amounts of lag so they prob lowered the compression to counteract this instead of solving the problem in other ways.
is something to consider though.
i think with the right injection system and not running huge boost it will be safe at higher compressions

and intercooler design has improved since then, so higher compression ratios can be used due to the cooler inlet charge.

The turbo they used was a pretty big KKK one, taken from a truck iirc, so big lag was inherent. I remember back in the day people used to rave about lag when turbo cars were getting popular!

oh you big homo!!!! guess you wont be buying my e21 off me then? atleast you will be getting nice and fit though buddy, work on those calf muscles lol
still got your jace but if its ok will need to borrow it for a little bit longer,

going to do an engine change on my car now so dont spose you have access to an engine hoist? merc will lend me theres but will have to do whole lot in a day. could also use your help for that if its ok?

shouldnt be too big a job really near enough a straight swap, should be just mounts inlet and exhaust

little update on my car, had a go at polising my already slightly polished rocker cover and it came up very nicely although there is some inbed oil on some bits of the surface i cant seem to get off. will post some pics when i get time.

getting my wheels on Monday morning from york so thats the next bit of the project really.

the current block in my car will be the one i will be turbocharging now once its had a nice clean and a good seeing too
