Soooo... I haven't exactly been sitting still
Organized the cars' history to find out that for example a rear sway bar was fitted... nice! Did some cleaning and polishing on the bodywork, replaced the license plates by the original blue ones, fitted the fog light covers I found in the trunk... car is all clean and shiny now!
Removed the worn mats and cleaned the interior... which is in as new condition! I forgot to mention the steering wheel is the early stock version with the thin rim and the separate center. The only thing that's a pity IMHO is the large speakers in the door panels.. fitted by the dealer!
Hmmmmm nice reading on the trip counter!!!!!!!!
Cleaned out the trunk that was filled with tools (loads of top quality Rahsol/Gedore/Hazet stuff btw), polish, motor oil, coolant, and much, much more. A pity some stuff had been leaking and I didn't have the energy to keep rubbing the trunk floor for too long.
Underneath all that there was a spare tyre... ehm looks like the original one including the Phoenix tyre and it doesn't look like it's been used EVER!
Also nice to discover a complete toolkit.

Damn Jeroen, she's looking real sweet!! But imho, you've got to loose the rear spoiler. The car is just soooo clean and unmolested - but the spoiler ruins the overall picture a bit... Other than that I'd leave it as it is...
Congrats on yet another fab E21!!

Thanks guys. Yep the rear spoiler is definitely something that doesn't fit the car. But I'm soo afraid it will leave a mess if I pull it off... it's been there for 30 years! Oh well, a different paint color... if it's just that It'll still look better than with the spoiler huh? Will check if it's bolted or not later this week then...

Congrats, a great car.
There is just something so nice about an original car like that. Details like the complete toolkit, the original spare and the sticker in the rear window ("Breeman BMW Rotterdam") are priceless. The interior is wonderful and the colour/paint looks like it's patinated just right. Soooo nice!
Love it!

Looking clean Jeroen. I wonder if the spoiler was put on at the same time as those speakers in the doors. lol. I love the older dashboard with those buttons, kinda space-age in a 70s way.
Do the seats get a bit sticky in this weather? They look comfy.
About the boot-lid, I think your best bet might be to get another one resprayed in your colour. Good luck with the hunt though. BTW, you don't take a bad photo either

Looking very sweet! What a mint car it has turned out to be underneath all the faded paint and dirt...

Thanks y'all guys!
Well the paintwork isn't mint but it looks quite OK. Interior is definitely mint... now I have to find the energy to do something about that engine bay... well maybe...

Here's another update. Fitted the following new stuff: spark plugs, distributor cap, windscreen wiper arms and battery.
And as requested a piccie of the engine bay...
I remember my cypress green car was just like that when I bought it. After many hours of blood, sweat and tears it looked like new.
At the moment I don't feel like putting in so much effort though... have a trackday on July 20th to prepare for!

July 20? I thought it was this weekend.....?
However: I would not be able to come because I'm busy working while others are on holiday......
Anyway: this is a keeper, I can see it in its eyes

OK we did a pre-check for the cars' annual MOT (APK). It needs 4 new tyres which I already knew, one fuel hose was replaced on the spot and the headlights were adjusted.
Already replaced spark plugs, intake air filter and distributor cap. Brakes, brake fluid and coolant are ok... so lemme do an oil change and we're almost there. The car will be back on the road on Thurs so me is happy!
