dont get me wrong they work, but they lack any initial bite even when warm. this makes you a little nervous about them when your approaching a corner.

they are pretty frightening in the paddock when they are stone cold

think they only work well under extreme temps etc!

Was thinking maybe laguna seca to tie in with MIB?

Will give the yellows a go and see what happens?

The Hawk pads I used were some of the best I have tried. They transformed my e30's brakes and worked really well from cold. Really inspired confidence. I'm sure there are better pads out there, but for the money they're hard to beat. Cambridge Motorsport were really quick at getting them sent out too! I've opted for their fast road pad in MIB too.

I so totally do not share your experiences with the Polymatrix stuff, but I had Poly E or Poly Q's, dunno anymore. Cold they were not good, they needed quite some effort to keep warm and function properly (difficult on the road sometimes) and very narrow bandwith and becoming too hot because of heat dissipation problems (even though I'm away the discs play a role there as well).

Bit of inspiration on the colour, found this pic on the net years ago:

Well I don't want them anymore, for fast track I'd much rather have Hawk

Weekend was spent scraping away sound deadening and remains of any glue on the floors inside. Getting a going over with the sander before primer and paint today or tomorrow. After that its just fitting up.

Managed to snag a digital dash display from PI Research. Am only going to use it for the basics, like the rev counter and oil/water temp' and pressure.

Still unsure about the wheels. Think a deep dish cross-spoke would work best but need to be 9J & 10J staggered really.

Thanks. They're the right size but really want deep dish cross spokes.

The last weekend was spent doing some of the fun stuff, like chipping away at the sound deadening on the floor pan. A combination of a chisel, heat gun and enough thinners to make you trip out, eventually did the trick. After that the inside and the cage was sanded and prepped ready for etch priming. There's still the alloy rear bulkhead and boot floor to go in but it's coming along now.

The bonnet pins are all done now too and the fiberglass panels fitted. I'm looking forward to seeing just how much weight has been lost. Hopefully it will be primed and painted before the weekend and then the poly windows can go in. :)
