Absolutely fab!! Looks great! Thought it was a type 1, but it's a type 2. Rearpanel tricked me.

The type/series 1 are the earlier E21's with chrome mirrors, slightly different dashes and other differences. Type/series 2 have different mirrors. dashboards, valences etc

thats not a stupid question at all. The difference on your car is that you've welded in a type 1 rear panel. The two round dents, below the bumper mounting holes are the only differences. The type 1 has different rear lights, without foglights in them. The round dents are for the foglight mounting and cablepassage. I have a 323i type 1, and had quite a search for an new panel in 2013, so thats why I noticed it.

Alright I see well I struggled to get a rear panel to weld in so ended up with half a panel off a 323 and half a replacement panel that came with the car but it all seemed to work meaning I also have twin exit aswel now

Looks great. One question, I'm reluctant to ask, but did you also welded in the extra chassisbar with exhaustmount?

Well, it's only some 20 spots left and right of the bar, and it stays free from the rearpanel. So it's doable without lots of damage.
*feeling sorry for not asking before*

Hahaha, I know the feeling. I bought my e21, drove it for some 2 months, wrecked the engine, ripped it apart and I am restoring it since, for 4 years now... Wouldn't now how it drove...
