Well I was going to update this with lots of pics, but since the FB fiasco I haven't decided what I'll do yet.

As for the car, the shell was structurally finished and sent back to be re-dipped then e-coat'd and epoxy primer'd.

We got it back a couple of weeks ago, now the slow progress of filling and finished the body work to get a good finish will commence.

Lets hope we get it all done before Sharknose 2018 :popcorn

Cheers

Ben

Time for a bit of an update,

As last mentioned the metal work was finished and the shell sent back to be dipped again and then dip epoxy primed:

The shell went back on the spit/rotisserie so we could smooth the remainder out properly:

Lets hope these pictures work :?

The paintshop was so busy that they couldn't take the shell when we needed. So we got to have fun spraying the underseal and am quite pleased with the textured finish we achieved:

And then base and laquered the whole underside:

Hope you like it so far :)

Finally base/hardener for the interior which is eventually unseen when the car is completed:

The slot with the bodyshop opened up so over it went for the outside to be primed and under bonnet and boot areas finish painted:

The sides of the boot had dynomat added under the final paint.

Then the day came for the return of the shell, and it rained :hammer :

But we cracked on with the assembly of suspension:

My old E24 M30B35 went in:

And the aftermarket ECU wired and mounted in the original position under the rear seat:

And the final update was the panels were delivered and fitted by the bodyshop:

And we are up to date, hopefully the next update could be the engine running and then mapping at Emerald in a couple of weeks.
Then a month to finish of the rest of the assembly before Sharknose e_surprised
