Shame you had to cut up the dash, couldn't you try to get that alpina/zender extra dashboard thingy? It bolts right on to your dash and looks awesome.

I am doing the same conversion to my E21 and having problem with brake servo. At first I tried hydraulic servo from E28 but that doesn't fit in there, too little room for that.
So I am also planning original brake servo and setting the engine in its original angle. Have you solved the shiftlinkage problem? I would really like to see the pictures. Without modifying the shiftlinkage the fifth gear is unreachable...already tried that.
