^^^^^ bloody hell... thats rusty!
ive fitted the k-mac top mounts from mark. thought i wouldnt be able to get much adjustment due to the size of the upper spring cap in the turret as i dont have super dooper coilovers.... but ive got a bit of front camber now so im happy with that . deffo feels a touch more poistive on turn in, been out in it and chucked it round a couple of decent corners.
found a rusty hole in the o/s inner wing tho, in the top rearmost corner.

couldnt be arsed getting the welder out and i havent got any paint either. so it can wait.

Made my number plates a bit more legal today.
Also, came out of Tesco an hour ago and found this...
Erm, no, you can't and certainly not for some nasty Subaru.
Despite being stupidly busy I did make it to my workshop and picked these bits up for the guys that want them. I didn't get time to post them though - sorry - hence the photo to prove they actually exist!
M10 rad - which is in better condition that I thought.
and an m10 Weber which looks like new.

Replaced the tyres (well, it was on Monday, actually, but last night was first ride!)
Michelin Energy saver
Excellent grip so good that I now feel the suspension softer (when turning, stopping etc)!!!
Way less noise
About economy I can't speak yet...
And, Mark, please explain to me how this Miracle has happened by only changing a carb on my old M10....: The car never stops (well...up to now) to surprise me on the road...It is going really fast...Faster than several newer cars!!!
If I get the chance in the weekend I'll get some pics of the new tyres up here.
Oh, and also...Still remains the issue with some lights not working in my dash...I can't find the time to open and fix the problem....(2 hours from my life, a couple of screwdrivers-already left in the car, and a soldering iron...)

M10's are well known for being good engines and most people know the blocks formed the basis of the old turbo'd F1 engine with 1500bhp! Using a Weber twin choke carb just beans you get more fuel & air in and get a bigger bang. A bigger bang = more power.

!!!......... And how much more power would you assume my M10 produces now with that weber? (1573cc 90bhp with the solex, before...)

I'd guess at somewhere between 100 and 110 maybe?

10-20 bhp ALL THIS DIFFERENCE??

The difference between a single choke Solex and a twin choke Weber is like chalk and cheese. The only way to get accurate bhp figures is to get the car on a dyno but the difference that really matters is how it feels on the road.

Can't wait to try it on my 2L M10 too

Well, AFAIK, the solex on the 316 is twin choke as well, not a single one-it was the 315 which had the single one.
Still the weber does much of a difference...Can't believe my car sometimes-even vs newer and more powerful (?) cars

Herman
Passed the TEST!
After we fitted a Bicycle MPH digital read out and a small LED torch, and fixed the peculiar Fog lights and the hazard lights and all the other things that have been going on!
Off to get a tax disc any moment (£10)= bliss.........................
And steve is organising those all important number plates next week
Noted that the shortshifter (from a Z3) catches the back of the gear gaiter surround- we will need to move it back a fraction.
Thought it would be end of Oct before we are on the road- looks like Herman has beaten Mark's TWR (to the draw!)
