just a wee little update
saw this on ebay for £10 with £4 p&p i figured the alloy t pipe samco and jubilee clips are worth that even if the forge dumpvalve is faulty
pretty good bargain i thought
on the look for a Decent used cheap wastegate now for the project,
once the panzer is finished and then when i sell it, i should get the cash injection to get this engine building fully under way

not much can go wrong with bov's i would've thought, do they just have o-rings in them or what? that thing would look good polished up, nice score.
why dont you just run an internal wastegate turbo?

the Rajay turbo and the manifold run an external wastegate as standard, the flow is also much much better on an external wastegate as unwanted gasses are removed further away from the turbo so its less likely to overboost. just offers more control really.
The Hks ones and a few copies have 2 stage boost control which is ideal for me really
as for the noise the dumpvalve should make should be awesome, should be a constant wooshing sound as the charger will constantly push air out ouf it till it closes then instant boost

awesomeness! i seen that spare thing done on a vw and some BBS RS's, but i think you hit the mark better with the black and the stickers etc.
will it get some stretch too????

it will be tricky finding a small enough 16" tyre but yes i will stretch it if i can

you're not going to run a proper space saver tyre on it?

Just use a 15'' Mazda one - it'll be fine as a get you home measure.

Ac Scnitzer had a space saver option for there 3pc e36 rims which used a motorbike tyre

thats a clever idea, a motorbike tyre would probably be a good width. i dont know what cars come with 16" space savers, but if you call round wreckers, there must be one that is readily available.
out of interest, how wide is that wheel you've built? its probably wider than an original e21 mag!

its 6.5 inchs wide so pretty much the same
good idea with motorbike rim, forgot about that, my mate runs those on his crazy twin wheel setup!
Changing the topic slightly but got the ol turbo kit yesterday, will try and get some pics when im a little less busy.
unfortunatly looking at it in detail the manifold is gonna be a bitch to use turned upside down and there is no hope i dont think of clearing the steering rack when its the right way up

.
I think what i will do is sell the turbo kit as a whole on here with the plan to buy a boost brothers manifold and run a garret turbo.
it would be a perfect kit for someone with a 2002 ti more so in a left hand drive version.
just means more searching around for moi!!!!
will get pics of the whole kit up on here soon and in the meantime if there are any of you left hand drive boys that fancy a turbo kit let me know

okay so i got bored last night and decided to strip down the turbo myself. it is actually incredibly easy which shocked me a little.
After doin a bit more research on the turbo it appears i might me okay to use it after all.
I am on to the bloke on ebay anyway to recupirate some of the costs of the rebuild.
the manifold i can mount upside down but will need a small adaptor to bring the turbo up to a sensible height.
while i make the adaptor i will also make a spare bit of kit with a garret flange for taking cheaper more sensible turbos.
the step from the manifold to the turbo is actually quite ridiculous so and adaptor pipe should help a little with smoother exhaust flow.
the turbine spins much more freely now and once it gets run up with some decent oil pressure im sure it will be fine.
If it smokes like a bitch i will simply replace the turbo for a garret item.
next on my list of parts to buy is intercooler but that will be after the panzer project is finished.
get my laptop back this week so i can finally get CATIA up n running and start designing the supercharger plate n things
