hazaaaaa

time for an update as i have been slacking lots n lots!!!!

Might post some pictures up later if i get round to it (unlikely)

Was gonna sell the project and everything but no one seemed all that interested so she will continue

Engine updates
-have now got myself a set of 2 litre 8:1 pistons,
-head is back from having some work done (thanks Ben) but still need to do some fetteling to get that to work
-my original M10 block has been dragged in from outside where we have been taken it in turns to piss on it to give it strength in true german traditional fassion
-2 litre crank will be going of for a regrind and will find some bigger bearings.
-block is complelety stripped and ready for cleaning now and a lick of paint then i can start the rebuild.
-Supercharger is ready for fitting now, once block is cleaned will start doing some technical drawings for the mounting plate.
- Rajay turbo will be ditched for a newer healthy unit i think now although will retain the BAE manifold with an adaptor pipe

Car updates
- I am now going for a new JDM style look, been trying to work out a way of getting maximum new interest in this car round the show scene and the white car just doesnt cut it any more and i really cant be arsed to pay for an expensive spray job
- car will now be matt black mostly, will retain the current arches and splitter and wheels but dish's will be powder coated yellow now
- need to start collecting braking components and varouis bits to get the car in a running form again.
- diff will be welded (properly this time)

mmmmm flat top pistons. although i may not actually use these i can dry build the engine with them and work out dimensions and compression ratio with them. will clean them up first as there a little dirty

Image

and a not quite so easy to see photo but basically, all the mechanical injector sleeves have been removed from the head, just need a small fettle to the injectors and they slide right the way in giving me virtually direct injection on top of the valves. im using AC cobra injectors and i have a spare set of 4 if anyone needs some.

Image

notice on the manifold a pre built 5 injector. this will be removed and my nitrous spray bar fitted deep inside basically giving direct nitrous or possibly methanol injection depending on the boost im running or the needs of the engine.

block is now all cleaned and painted, set about polishing my oil filter housing with special adaptor for the turbo oil feed

Image

here is a picture fiited to the now painted block

Image

tomorrow job is to decoke the turbo pistons (done 1 allready)

Image

and going to fit the e30 m10 hard waterpipe as that will sit under the charger better than the e21 item which is a bit pants, im sure the hammerite will be out in full force

Good work! I would love those rims if only the fin bits were straight rather than angled. Still V nice tho.

i like the angles, there all sided to the car so they actually improve the effect on cooling for the brakes as they suck the hot air out. much the same as the turbo fans BBS made.

being 5x120 fitment aswell means i dont need to run PCD adaptors. will be running some 20mm spacers though as the offset is faily wrong for E21 use. just wish i had an LS1 lump for the car aswell :(

right, i mocked up the turbo kit ( to show how it should go in a left hand drive car) and it appears i have all parts except the oil drain pipe which isnt the end of the world as can be easily made.

I was going to flip the manifold and make some adaptors but i think im just going to sell the kit off now as it would be a shame to break a complete kit. this would bot directly up to a lhd car with mechanical injection Kjet 4 pot american stuff. not sure how you go about upping the fuel or whatever though

Image

this will look simaler to my set up pipe wise as my charger would be mounted under the inlet plenum

closer view of the turbo, top mount wastegate
