Anders,

You're right. Yours is a 323 on steroids. Can't imagine what the big six drives like. Would be fun to try though.

BMW NA never brought in the 323. The ones that are in the country were imported privately or through some Gray Marketers who adapted them to meet federal standards. There were no sixes in a 3 until 1985 when the 325E was introduced. Specially tuned to meet emissions and fuel standards at the time. Most cars brought in had Air and an automatic, both of which suck a lot of power.

We finally got the 325i in 1987 along with the M3.

The 4 cylinder was brought back in the E30 in 1990 and the 318is was a great car.

The E 36 had a four for a while, which was finally dropped. No more 4 cylinder engines for BMW through BMW NA.

I've had friends who had examples of all those E 30s and they were all fun to drive.

Best,

Mike

Well, Anders' B6 is an e21 on steroids; I don't know about a 323i anymore! The M30 is completely different, I have a 2.8l M30 in my e12, and even that engine is a world of difference from the M20 with its 135Kw. You and me can only imagine what the 160Kw 3.5 will do in an e21!

Its something I'd like to try one day.........

Cheers

Niall and Anders both have some serious power in their E21s.

Would be a blast to actually see the vehicles and go for a run.

Keep 'em going guys!

If you come to Lelystad in September, can I get the same treatment? ;) I'll be there with my Baur, so we'll take her for a spin as well.

Nice pics of the track day as well!
