1A Pre 1941 Vintage & Post Vintage Thoroughbreds (PVT) up to 2500 c.c.
1B Pre 1941 Vintage & PVT over 2500 c.c.
2A Pre 1968 Classic Cars up to 1500 c.c.
2B Pre 1968 Classic Cars over 1500 c.c. up to 2000 c.c.
2C Pre 1968 Classic Cars over 2000 c.c. up to 3000 c.c.
2D Pre 1968 Classic Cars over 3000 c.c.
3A Pre 1981 Classic Cars up to 1500 c.c.
3B Pre 1981 Classic Cars over 1500 c.c. up to 2000 c.c.

Additional classes for period defined vehicles, i.e. Edwardian, or for individual marques or
models, i.e. Morgan, Lotus, etc., can be added if 5 or more qualifying entries are received - the
Manx Motor Racing Club will provide class awards for each of these classes.
Note: Classes must be notified to the Entries Secretary prior to the closing date for entries.
There are classes for standard road cars per above.
Cars competing in Classes 6A and 6B must be road legal.
Cars with valid MOT’s or equivalent may compete with MOT legal treaded tyres.Road legal tyres are permitted subject to approval by MMRC Technical Committee who are
aware that competitors may wish to use older designed classic types that are reproduced in
classic car aspects and widths with correct speed ratings, and which are not included in the
relevant Blue Book lists through being out of date. Where possible the tyres are listed below.
Cars in Classes 1-8 may use road legal tyres or tyres from 2012 Edition MSA Blue Book Part
2 Section L, List 1A and List 1B plus Dunlop M and L section tyres, Hoosier R6, A6 and Street
TD, Blockley, Michelin XWX, Pirelli Cinturato CN36 and BFGoodrich R1 and Comp T/A and Avon
Turbosteels. Slicks are not allowed.
A Kit Car is defined as a vehicle in which the engine and chassis may come from different
manufacturers from original and the engine and ancillaries may not be in the original
manufacturer’s location.
Post 1970 open wheeled racing cars are not permitted.
