There is no brown in there! Jamie you are colour blind. You even think I painted my car a Vauxhall colour!
Seeing as you bumped my thread may as well update it .
spent two days detailing it. And I got rid of the wooden block clutch stop and fabricated a metal one. Bought brand new headlight rear covers.
Megs gold class wash
Megs nxt wax x3 coats
Megs tyre dress
Autoglym metal polish
Autoglym leather balm x2 coats

haha cheers man.
I'm off to a track day next week (castle combe), Some of my mates think im mad for taking my e21 on a track, but having spent all this time and effort making it hilariously fast and handle like its on rails, I just want to wring its neck and see what it can do.
so I bought a couple of things
don't laugh. it was only £70 delivered and should be good enough to protect my noggin if I have a "problemchild" moment
I bought a lightweight alloy jack, its a nice piece of kit
so I made a clutch stop as the universal pedal box doesn't have one built in, basically its a nut welded onto a piece of metal that bolts onto the pedal arm,
So when i was building my car up I was in a rush to get my car on the road. I did a temporary work around with my temp gauge sender and used it as a plug on the hose that warms the throttle body but it didn't work very well (under reading) as it wasn't in the water stream.
As you can see on my spare m52 is that there is a provision for the m20 temp sensor to be fitted which is blanked off with a plug from the factory. The throttle body hose connector is on the right and the ecu temp sensor on the left, I have no idea why some m52's have a spare hole and some that simply do not have it.
here is the difference in thread sizes.
So I took the intake off, and as I have done that job too many times now it took me about 20mins the first time it was like an hour and half! lol
I took a brave pill and then drilled the throttle body heater hose outlet with a 12.5mm drill bit and then went at it with my tap. (you may notice that there is no spare hole on this m52)
my life is never easy because I have this rather expensive set of taps and I had to go buy another just to do this stupid job.
the temp sensor is in and doesn't leak.
I put everything back on the engine and started up (no air leaks which is a bit of an achievement). Previously my temp gauge wouldn't move until the car was really warm but now after a couple of minutes... works brilliant.
