Re: Classic Thunder Build - Duracel79 - England
any idea about the steering joint position?
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x19/ ... G_2295.jpg
we all have the low ET problems despite that we all have enough space on the inside of the arches. Still thinking how to move, turn around, reengineer the position so a ET25 wheel can clear the ball joint? Any ideas?
otherwise a great build and the B&W photos make it nostalgic

The main issue I can see is the location of the steering rack and lower arms, easiest option may be to try and fabricate and fit an E30 front subframe setup. Quite a bit of cutting and welding required for that.
Also one of the nice things about the E21 is they like low offset wheels which means you can have some good dish

ebay item 162018442288
Sweet BRT Appleton Woodward are all makes to look out for, some in 2.5 ratio down at around $300
not sure if they are narrow enough but your in the ideal position to check.
just need to check front/back flippy situation

Not sure what to make of that, the input is quite chunky and we do have exhaust clearance issues on RHD cars already.pandemonium001 wrote:

Re: Classic Thunder Build - Duracel79 - England
Bit more work done last week.
Removed the doors to prevent any damage during the build.
Got the bonnet, boot lid and roof spoiler fitted:

Cleaned the engine and box replaced the gearbox seals and linkage bearings and fitted the engine & box:

Then worked on the brake/clutch reservoirs and all the brake lines:

Fitted the rear Zender spoiler:

Then spent some time re-wrapping the loom and fitting the fusebox inside:

More work happening next week
Cheers
